We went to Joshua Tree today, just for the day, which is perfect. All the NPs have Junior Ranger programs which our kids love. So we did that.
We also made Grace take a hike. There is a dam in the park with a little pool of water. It's about a 1.1 to 1.3 mile loop. It was hard for her, but we had a good time. Here's Grace at the beginning of the hike: [link] and Noah hamming it up: [link]
Oh god I hadn't even considered that schools might close for snow. That would be the worst.
I am watching NCIS! Because why not?
(Also--"only" a foot of snow?!?!)
Well, a foot total that's going to fall between tomorrow and Friday. It'll be a clusterfuck, but possibly not enough to close. Especially since my work apparently usually goes by the nearby university, and of course they are on break.
(Also, I didn't mean that earlier post to sound snotty, because I did link to some journal....)

Happy New Year everyone!
We have had a great visit. Played Cards Against Humanity last night--so much fun! And then went on a hike today. Tonight the plan is a movie, that's about it.
I did not have a hangover from last night, hooray!
No hangover, just tired, since I had to get up at 4:30 AM to take D and the kiddo to the airport. Got home at 1:30 from a fun NYE party with friends. D watched the kiddos (all 5) at the annual Kid NYE Slumber Party since he had to take the kiddo back to PA today.
A fun time was had by all. The only bad part was picking him up from the airport tonight with the snow and the horrible awful slick roads.
so turned out only 8 adults came by and a total of 5 kids, 2 who do not know mac, so they would't go play with him. I have a bunch of left over food, but will eat through it all.
I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE TO WORK TOMORROW. HORRIBLE.
I also cannot believe that Friday is Grandma's memorial, so kinda a crazy week.
