Went to the beer bar and the beer dinner, came home and drank a beer, then went to bed (where I stayed up too late reading, heh.) Today I've been in my jammies, watching Community, and making Hoppin' John (black eyed peas).
I also finalized a magazine article (and three sidebars) and submitted them, so I am feeling totes productive.
After the Hoppin' John is done, I'm pretty much finished with all my obligations of the day.
We took Kato for a walk, since today is the warmest and driest it's going to be for a while (back to the gym tomorrow, with the rest of the world), which seems to have helped my headache. Now we are eating fancy cheese (Trader Joe's olive oil/rosemary asiago) and watching DVDs of Arrow S1. Hey, it's New Year's Day and I don't care about college football but I loves me some superheroing.
I had a nice hike with a friend (2nd year in a row, so now it's a tradition), and then we had tea, and now I'm doing laundry and will get some groceries to make a pot of cassoulet, which should be a good healthy way to start the year off.
And no wine! I'm off alcohol for the month of January; and it will be easier because my sister is doing it too.
I have a black-eyed pea salad for dinner, and will be cooking a pork tenderloin about 30 minutes from now. I feel prepared for the year.
Well, as prepared as one can be with 3 to 7 inches of snow expected overnight.
We did some desperately needed clean up in the house this morning, and then ee had thessaly and Victor over for pickies this afternoon. We used a groupon for dinner at our local Mexican restaurant (it was about to expire, so that was a good excuse to go out). I'm quite tipsy from the margarita I had.
We're expecting a lot of snow tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the town he works at gets shut down for the day.
I had a pomegranate margarita last night and it was very tasty.
Apparently I'm tipsy enough that I thought I was in Bitches. Hi, Natterers! Maybe I should try to post here more in 2014.
Jesse, you've inspired me to buy this for me and this for the kids. As my grandmother keeps reminding me, Facebook is not a baby book.
I am glad that things I am aware of, but don't actually do, are inspirational! You should probably actually be inspired by lisah....
So, the local schools just cancelled for tomorrow and Friday. I wonder if I'll have a snowday Friday! We're only supposed to get a foot, so I'm betting no.
Ah, that's what I get for being a skimmer. Sorry, lisah!
