Or more specifically, if you were closer. Being in NY wouldn't help me much either.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I HAVE CABLE!!!! It's a Christmas miracle!!
Yay! Why have you been without? I missed that part.
I was pretty sure my grandmother had been on the same account as my parents, but when I plugged in the box that was here, it didn't work. Meanwhile, my mother decided to switch companies. So that took a couple of weeks, and then another while before she actually went to pick up a second box. I was a little afraid I was going to have to do something with the actual cables in the basement, but no -- they were already hooked up! So with the new box, everything works perfectly. Phew!
I was trying to watch some Netflix stuff on my parents' TV, but my sister had logged into Netflix earlier with her account and hadn't logged off. So I tried to find a "logout" button somewhere, but couldn't find it. After googling, I found that the solution is to press up up down down left right left right up up up up on the remote, and that will open a "do you want to log off?" screen. As far as I can tell, that is the only way to log off.
That's bizarre.
netflix could do a lot to increase usability. I am not sure why they took off the date things will roll off the streaming availability. Not sure why they took off the ability to put disk not yet streaming on your queue. Not sure why you can't remove a season of a tv show after you have viewed it, or why you can't reserve or mark where you are on a season.
My biggest problem with Netflix on the TV is using the Xbox controller to navigate it.
Note to self - if I want to go to that bellydancing class at the gym, I need to set an alarm of some sort. Just remembering does not work. Maybe next week.
My mom is thinking about starting a Netflix account, but she hasn't figured out how to watch on her TV yet and she's not sure if iPad and computer screen will work for her.

You can't? I could've sworn that it remembered where I had left off for me when I was working my way through Farscape and Deep Space Nine.
Unrelatedly, but y'all will understand this, I keep seeing ads for Raymond James and thinking "Michael?"
Our new blu-ray player streams Netflix, and we really need to watch S4 of Arrested Development, so we ought to sign up.
