Forewarned is forearmed.
The great thing about coming to work today is that I could bring in the plate of cookies my neighbor gave me (last year the ants got it).
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Heh. I just edited an article about how sugar is going to KILL US ALL! (Actually, it's not alarmist in any way, but the data are pretty damn clear that added sugar is actually WAY more of a risk factor for chronic disease like cardiovascular disease and dementia than was previously thought. DAMN IT.)
t edit I'm glad I waited until AFTER Christmas pie and cookies to edit it. That way I got in my deadly sugar with no shame.
Theo Jesse Rayne Birthday Birthday Birthday Happy Happy Happy!
Here's to your health, sarameg! Yipes!

I've read some of that evidence too, and yeah, pretty clear.
Did you see the NYT magazine piece on sugar toxicity?
Thanks, I now have a craving for creme brulee.

Was that the Robert Lustig piece? I think I did. The one I'm working on is for a JAMA journal; it's a 22-year study on the impact of sugar on health, completely separate from the weight/"empty calories"/obesity angle. It's pretty harsh on the sugar lobby.
Happy Birthday, Theo!!!
Happy Birthday, Jesse!!!
Happy Birthday, Rayne!!!
Yikes, Sarameg. I hope no one else catches it and that your sister-in-law is feeling better soon.

Is there any way I can read that without a subscription to JAMA?
