I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I want to put more lights outside and make cookies and watch football and knit, but I slept until noon and now am inter webbing sitting on mac's bed with him and the dog (mac's request). so yeah, nothing getting done is way I expect for the day.

Memorial service will be Jan 3. mom and dad area on their way to NM for burial.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The kids decided they would wake up at 5am today and now are both screaming at the top of their lungs "I AM NOT TIRED! I DON'T NEED A NAP!"

If the three of us survive this week, it will be a fucking miracle.

On the plus side, it's weirdly 60F here in Brooklyn today, so we were able to go to the playground with no jackets on!

Punishingly Intricate

I'm feeling very lucky to be at my husband's parents in MI where I have zero responsibilities today other than to get dressed to go out to dinner in a few hours. I think we'll go to a movie tomorrow and, eventually, I'll have wrap presents but that's about it. Lazy!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but here is a picture of Finn's first snowfall.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Nice camouflage!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yup, those are the cornflake wreaths I'm talking about. With redhots for decoration!

YES! I was just trying to describe those to someone this week, and the person thought I was insane. Are they a midwest thing, maybe?

All of my shopping (food and gift. and food-gift) better be done, save for candy at CVS tomorrow. And god willing, my last packages arrive tomorrow. Maybe I'll wrap some presents now....

TJ's was shockingly uncrowded, to the point that there wasn't even a line at the register. And I'm sure I got more stuff than I needed for Tuesday, but it's all stuff I like, so that works regardless.

I believe they are indeed a midwest thing.

Now in addition to the cornflakes, we have the Best Sugar Cookies Ever (sprinkled with red and green sugar, though sadly a few of them from the second batch burnt), and the first batch of Nutella-Filled Brown Butter Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies. Which for the second batch we decided they would be fine without the nutella filling, because it was just too hard to make them.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Finn's first snowfall.

Disappearing cat!

This is no good, my only accomplishment today has been cleaning the cat boxes. Must motivate.

are the wreaths made with marshmallows and butter just like rice ripe treats?

meara - Dec 22, 2013 10:44:27 am PST #15300 of 30000

Yep, msbelle! It's cornflake rice krispie treats, basically. With redhots. And food coloring.

ETA: Note, it's a little better if you crush up the cornflakes a bit--not pulverized, just...smaller pieces.
