Although I am sort of glad that maybe enough people have "come out" that it will cease being news? And thus requiring an actual "coming out". I did google a bit, and realized I also thought Scott Hamilton came out, and he is not gay.

Fear of escalators is not an irrational fear! That are death machines! Also I'm pretty sure there's a monster that lives down in the green lights area. I watched a documentary about escalators getting built and they didn't show the installation of the monster but I'm still pretty sure.
I kept thinking it was weird when they reported on the two gay women in the Sochi delegation...and Brian Boitano is also there. I assume this is why he did come out?
Boitano said for years that it was nobody's business and had nothing to do with skating. Now that it DOES have something to do with skating... Go Brian :)
Scott Hamilton, otoh, according to dish I have heard, was pretty much out (though unstated), found Jesus, crawled back in, and got married.
It's a big deal in the world of male figure skating and not in a very good way. It's political and ugly and sad.
I've never had this happen before. So I'm designing this show; spent 10 hours on Mon hanging and focusing; spent the last two days in tech (all outside of the day job) and a couple of hours ago I got a call telling me that the show is cancelled. I have to go strike everything today.
As far as I can recall, the only two other big-name skaters who are publicly out are Rudy Galindo and Johnny Weir.
Wow, aurelia. Will you get paid? What happened?
Escalators are death machines. I hateses them. When I worked at JC Penney some children were horsing around and got a finger stuck, and it was a bloodbath. Also an employee got her skirt stuck, and that was a scary couple of seconds, but she ripped her skirt out.
I was wrong. Wikipedia lists several others. A bunch of them came out publicly years after they'd retired from skating, and they'd never been hugely famous to begin with (like, Olympic bronze or something pretty cool like that, but not really a media favorite so didn't get much attention), so it wasn't really big headlines when they came out. Out of all those people, I only recognize Randy Gardner, Brian Boitano, and Johnny Weir.

Oof, that sucks. I'm sorry.
