It's so nice when the good essays are really good. Also, it's fun to read student's writing when I'm not assessing it, but looking for that which is unusually good comparatively.
That's why I like judging the writing competition too.

He just messaged me with "FML" and then deactivated his FB account. Huh. I guess I'm supposed to call him and inquire with deep concern what happened. I think he's misjudged how much I care.
