It's so nice when the good essays are really good. Also, it's fun to read student's writing when I'm not assessing it, but looking for that which is unusually good comparatively.
That's why I like judging the writing competition too.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I'm sorry Jesse
Jesse, I'm sorry for your loss, but glad it was peaceful and swift.
My new friend is a hugger. I like her enough to hug back. Human contact!
There was a guy who was chatting with me on FB the last few days, and then he gave me his number and we talked on the phone for a bit one evening. He's smart and fairly interesting, but he kept talking about sex even after I'd made it clear I Was Not Interested, so I'm sorta over him already. He just messaged me with "FML" and then deactivated his FB account. Huh. I guess I'm supposed to call him and inquire with deep concern what happened. I think he's misjudged how much I care. He's a bit of a mess; this is just a drama-llama I don't need.

I am left assuming that "FML" stands for "Feed my llama".
It should! As I understand the kids today, it means "fuck my life". Which is how one announces that something has not gone to plan.
I'm sorry for your loss, Jesse.
I'm so sorry, Jesse.
I'm sorry about your grandmother, Jesse.
Back from Europe! Not really wanting to log into work and see what I have to deal with.
I'm sorry, Jesse. Peace and strength to you and yours in the coming days.
Ugh, zen, that does sound like drama. Was the drama of deactivation related to you or just overall?
