I've had that conversation, Connie. So many people come into the library with the I hate computers brain. In rare instances I have been able to have conversations that has somebody at least start thinking that maybe. The hate on that they have for the computer is part of the problem

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Don't respond, now . In the end your response might be something like I can' t respond. Because. This email is...controllingb, a threat, telling me to be the bitcha, telling me to be a doormat, etc. and that is not something I can respond to.
But wait to say anything. If it can't be said face toe face ,it can wait.
Unless this makes no sense- then ignore me
That makes perfect sense beth. Various responses are floating through my head and some are reasonable and some are just not and I'm not sure how reasonable I want to be.
CJ just buzzed home from school during his off period to give me my B12 shot. We were supposed to do it yesterday and forgot. I was on a conference call the whole time he prepped the syringe and administered the shot.
More news on the Arapahoe High School shooting. The shooter and CJ went to the same middle school at the same time but they didn't know eachother. ARP has been providing around the clock crime scene security at AHS since Friday. I just heard that they have released it from being a crime scene, but the team is scheduled to be there through Wednesday. CJ, unfortunately, is still on grade suspension, so he hasn't been a part of this mission.
American Horror Story is messed up, yo!
re: computer hate, I've had good luck with saying that they went into their line of work because they wanted to work with buildings, not computers, but the computers caught up with them anyway, and I wouldn't know the first thing about building or repairing a house. It helps them not feel stupid, just unfamiliar with a particular type of knowledge. I've had customers tell me that other techs here have made them feel dumb--hopefully by accident! But I will admit that I have evil fun with people--generally women--who pull the "I'm too old to know this stuff, tee hee." A few years ago a female customer said, "Oh, I'm 48, I'm too old to know this sort of thing." I'm afraid my voice got a touch chilly when I said, "I'm 50."
My Zappos help person is asking me how my holiday season is going. You know I love you, Zappos, but not even for you do I want to engage in small talk.
Dude, I did this after it had been a long time since I'd worked there and moved to another state. (I blamed Apple for not being clear about where they were shipping to until after I'd purchased; I think Amazon's checkout workflow for shipping is much better.)
I do mostly blame Lands' End, although I'm sure there was a stage where I could have noticed what was happening...
In re: computers, I had the thing last week where a younger person begged to take my mouse to show me something, instead of waiting for me to get there. That's MY role!
Oh, that happened to me with Lands End, too when I first moved here.
It's ridiculous to actually buy this at the price of $42 for my husband who watched Finding Bigfoot, right? [link]
I think I will print it out and give the page to him in an envelope.
