Cold meds are good!
In random news, I realized on the drive home today that one of the reasons I tend to listen to the 70s station more than the 80's ( I still have the SitiousXm trial that came with the car) is that the 70s songs are mostly before my musical time, but with the 80"s I can get hit with things like Run DMC"s version of walk this way being released 27 years ago, which makes me feel really really old
a thing I am selling on ebay is going for much more than I thought. Still not even $10, but I really did not think it would sell, or if it did, not more than $1. good times. I wish everything would sell like that.
btw - anyone have a child size small who is into pokemon?
Thanks for sharing the feeling old, Lee?
Yay, cold meds! I feel like crying a lot has sometimes helped me get over colds, fwtw. Like how neti pots might, I guess, just increasing the flow, as it were.
OK, so it is cool & dry enough to forgo the ac except the city stinks. This happens. I know the smell. Sorta like stale farts. Too late now.
Jesse, peace to your mother's memory. Sorry the timing sucks, but glad it was peaceful. Sending you non-hugs over the internet to respect your no-hugging stand.
Oh Jesse, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Double posting because otherwise seems crass...
I got an email today saying I have to be back at work on Thursday. Um, thanks for the notice. And since you're only paying me half my hourly/contract rate, perhaps I won't come to work after all? But it's prep for the accreditation we will be doing this year and I'm on the main committee so perhaps I will need to get off my ass and go.
In other news, I swam an entire lap of butterfly today! I mean, it was a lap insofar as it was two lengths, separated by a length of freestyle and MAJOR time to catch my breath. Also, my waterproof iPod ran out of battery charge while I was in the blow which is no good. Will try to do 3 lengths of butterfly tomorrow, but it's kicking my ass.
Jesse, I'm sorry for your loss. Similar thing happened to me earlier this summer and it really felt sudden and untimely, even though rationally I guess it was time. Do you want to move into that apartment?
Is it wrong that I find Duck Dynasty sort of delightful?
It seems like an old-fashioned sitcom, pretty much. A friend of mine is applying to write for it.
Jesse, I'm sorry for your loss, but happy that it was peaceful and she didn't linger too long.
Although I do second bon bon's question about the apartment: do you want to live there? Is it in a better neighborhood and cheaper?
My BIL has an aunt who is in her 90s, and has spent the last 60+ years living in a rent-controlled apartment right by Columbia. She apparently pays less than $100/month for this place. Amazing.
