Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We have a snow day, which we found out when the phone rang at 5:45 am. At least we could go back to sleep....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jesse, you should adopt the New York tradition of the bagel coat, ie a coat long enough that you can run out to get the bagels on Sunday morning without getting dressed.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

In my mind, a bagel coat has a large hole in the middle....

I was successful in picking up cold 'n cough stuff. Thank goodness that cough medicine can now be found in pill form, since swallowing a couple tbsps of the foul-tasting ichor they claim is cherry-flavored is a test of my fortitude.

4 days in a row where I'm home is making Pumpkin more clingy than normal, I think. OK, time to run a meeting. UHG.

Punishingly Intricate

I really, really, really want to badmouth my paycheck provider. Especially since they are a significant federal contractor. They should honor the contract they are paid for.

Yeah, indeed. I have lots of opinions about your paycheck provider based on my project's experience. I like to believe, and everything I've been involved in backs this up, that my own company is a pretty virtuous gov't contractor. I really hope we can stay that way.

My employer let us know early that the agency is closed today and we should work at home if we didn't feel safe driving in. And it's actually possible for most to work at home so that's good! I realized late yesterday afternoon that my annual review isn't actually due until COB wednesday not yesterday like I thought. Did that mean I finished it early?? Nooooo, of course not! But I plan to finish it today. FOR REAL!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

mac was back to school today and the roads are mostly clear, only bridges remain icy and the only ones I have to cross are little tiny creek ones just a smidgen of the normal road.

Work. I do not want to be here. shocker, I know. I was kinda getting productive last night at home - washed dishes, cleaned off the kitchen counter, got the first Holiday cards up, got a load of laundry in, swept the entry. I feel like I could have continued some of that this morning if I could have gone home after dropping mac off.

There is really no reason I could not work from home on days like today when we are not shipping, but this place is way too old school for that, plus I wouldn't be here to cover the phones for the men. grr.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ha! Love it. Most of my inside clothes aren't that bad, and would be fine with a coat and shoes, but the Christmas-patterned pjs and fuzzy slippers are a little much. I will be That Lady on the street!

I was afraid it would be icy and hard to get to the airport today, but apparently it was all just a scare tactic. No ice.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am off work today! It was -2.5 and still dropping when we woke up this morning, and as a result, the tires are unhappy. It's possible they're fine, but they did not improve with the first half-hour of commute, so we turned around before we left civilization. The SO dropped me off home and headed out to the tire shop. The dog and I are curled up in front of the woodstove.
