Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesus fucking christ, Kat. What a mess.

Do you start the new job on Monday, Jesse?

Not til Wednesday, thank goodness. My coworker's party was nice and fun and good way to end the week. There were enough spouses there (and I think we all tried) that we didn't talk about work very much, which is always a good thing. They are such a nice group of people! Snif.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Kat. I am enraged on your behalf.

I am so very tired and I have two more hours to be at work today. But at least I'm not out in the cold doing an nighttime TV shoot on the river walk like the crew of Betrayal.

Fuckity, my eyes are itchy and burny in that cold-sick way. I'm not THAT congested, I only discovered the sinus crap in the pool, I don't have time for this, uhg.

Oh yeah, and cramps. Fuck off, body.

I'm drinking wine and bingeing on Sleepy Hollow. It's one way to spend a Friday night...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

@@ a bit at FB people, specifically the fact that the two people who felt they needed to chime in with "you can so eat healthy for cheap!" are, to the best of my knowledge, far and away wealthier than most people I know

I find this utterly unsurprising.

I have boiled off half a pot of water with cinnamon in order to hydrate my air. It's raining outside, cold though. I still feel like my sinuses might crackle into a hundred pieces when not planted directly over the pot.

I hereby apologize for all my whining the next few days. I am an awful patient.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Kat, how infuriating! Grrr!

I had a good final day of classes. Hugs from many students.

This weekend is shaping up to be onerous task weekend, AKA we finally empty out Liz's office and send it all off with the haulers. We'll see how far we get.

I thought I knew what you were WHOAWHOAWHOAing and then I got to the next scene.

Hah, I am now caught up on Scandal (because I decided to do dinner with a friend, and skip both the holiday party and the dancing in favor of dinner then couch). And yes, WHOA indeed that last moment. I'm hoping we get a little explanation though. Because it seems so out of character. I mean, I get the motivation, but...yeah. Anyway. The sad part is, I'm so over the whole Mama Pope thing that I've started fast forwarding through all of that. Probably missing important info (though I caught the next-to-last-scene revelation), but I just don't actually care all that much? I think I, too, want the Mellie-and-Cy show. But James could hang out for added pretty.

Oh lord. I woke up in a panic, thinking it was a work day and Loki had turned off the alarm.

It was 4 am, and it is saturday. Finally fell back asleep and barely woke up in time for coffee before market. Today might be rough.
