They won't decannulate Grace until she can pass a sleep study with a capped trache. The trache forces her to only breathe through her mouth and nose. She has been wearing a speaking valve for months but that allows her to inhale just forces her to exhale through a different airway. So I think she has to adjust and build up a tolerance so she can be decannulated eventually.
