Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I knew I was a woman when I realized how hot Christopher Plummer was.

You can all do like I used to have to when I was a kid, and watch until the kids go to bed.

Me too! I'm still surprised when that's not the end.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Interval training, I am not good at it.

Indeed: this makes it happen much more effectively than just knowing I should do it. But you don't have to do it all the time: you can turn off the zombie chases for any given mission.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Man, it's terrible, isn't it? I used to sing that song and jump around gazebos.

It's kinda sobering when you realize that I was, in point of fact, sixteen going on seventeen when I met the SO, with all that sort of conditioning still bouncing around in my brain.

Because books.

Wow, she really can't act.

Right? And I still know all the words, I just want to throw up in my mouth a little as I'm singing them.

"How Lovely to Be a Woman" from Bye Bye Birdie is a little better, but not much.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hey, here's a song where belting is actually appropriate!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I will say that it's not really fair to force anyone who's not Julie Andrews to pull off "The Lonely Goatherd."

I suspect that Carrie Underwood actually has a lovely high voice, but she's always belting so much that you never get a chance to hear it.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The Do-Re-Mi song requires perfect pitch. Julie Andrews had it. Carrie Underwood, on the other hand....

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I am now back to wanting new boss to diaf. We had our second biggest fundraiser today. She showed up in jeans, was utterly disengaged, spent the day picking her cuticles and texting and not promoting the raffle because she thought it should be the job of the two people already frantically working checking people out with their purchases. I strategically removed her from her post (that she kept abandoning) and put away the chair she'd been sitting on and stood for the next four hours (on my recovering sprained ankle) and raked in the raffle tickets while she sat on her ass in the other room and texted and picked her cuticles and continued to be disengaged, and unfortunately the ED was across the street signing in lunch-goers.

One of her prize comments today, IRG to the house tour being so close to Thanksgiving this year: "well, in England they don't have Thanksgiving...". I told her as politely as I could that it was just too fucking bad that we were Americans in the United States of Fucking America [and get your anglophiliac ass across the pond, and I apologize to the UK in advance)].

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, vaguely thinking "interval training seems like a good idea, I wonder how I can make myself do that" hasn't gotten me very far.

Huh, it seems there are two apps from the same developer. Quandary!
