And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Uh-oh - someone at NBC hit the "publish" button a little too soon:

Screenshot in case they've fixed it by now

Oh, dear, my first reaction was "He was still alive?" Definitely a man who had a good run.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Felt well enough to go to work today.(though I slept poorly again last night) Must have been a bug.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no! So sad.

....But also brings me back to meetings I had for a full year a while ago where the Anonymous News-y Documentary Show I worked on reported every month that they had the Mandela bio ready to re-run....just in case.

Is it really sad when a 95 year old man dies? It's not really untimely, though it is a sadness for his family. More a chance for an honorable farewell.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

NOra (heh, my phone did that but I'm gonna leave it) currently the south has colder temps than we do, so don't go counting chickens, etc

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'd say not tragic, but still sad. A life completed, for sure.

Because books.

I wrote a piece this summer about him, when he was first in the hospital. Definitely a life of achievement.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

which part of the south? New Orleans is in the mid 60s-high 70s this week.

Conversely, though, there were a few weeks up there this past summer that you all were hitting higher temps than us consistently. I remember this because I was planning a visit shortly after all that nonsense, so I was paying close attention to the weather.

It don't matter though, I love the weather here. If it gets cold (like 40s-50s) it's still better than below freezing and sub zero and snow and slush and ice.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'd say not tragic, but still sad. A life completed, for sure.

I agree with this. The world was a better place with him in it.

I'm catching up on an episode of Scandal from October. The one where the politician is accused of killing his mistress, but his wife did it instead. It would have been a better episode if that twist hadn't been done a million times before.
