I feel like when I've gone shopping Black Friday afternoon, it wasn't crowded, so maybe wait and try that? And by "not crowded," I might just mean the same amount of crowded as any weekend in December.
I really wish I had gravy to go with my leftover turkey and mashed potatoes, but alas, I don't even have access to flour.
I had a satsuma and 3 cups of coffee for breakfast, then a nice walk with the dog and I am still not hungry. I may never need to eat again. Except that I still have kale in the fridge and I can't let that go to waste.
I have a ton of household chores to do, but I think I will be lackadaisical about doing them. Because, really, why not?
I had steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. Mostly because I've had a lot of Thanksgiving food, and I know I'll be making a pie tonight, so I needed a break.
It's a gorgeous, cold day today. I'm planning to walk downtown to buy some Christmas cards and get some lunch once my hair dries. Unless Kohls offers a cure for cancer as a door buster special, that's as much Black Friday shopping as I'm ever likely to do.
ETA, -t, have you ever tried kale chips? [link]
I think I've fallen into the vicious circle where, as soon as I'm not full, I think I'm hungry. Because I'm eating lunch now! Not a big lunch, but still.
I tried making kale chips once and didn't care for them; I like kale steamed, stewed or sauteed better. I'm thinking this bunch will be a frittata as soon as I am up for cooking and eating one. Because I also have eggs that need eating up and a frittata pan.
The slice of apple pie was delicious. I may have some more for lunch, maybe.
I have to venture out and shop for at least a few grocery essentials before lunch. I went to Target first thing this morning to buy catfood, decided to look for Christmas presents since I was already in the thick of things, and barely restrained myself from getting into a fistfight with a guy who repeatedly tried to step into the space I was already occupying.
I just realized I won't have food for dinner in the house, so I can run my dishwasher now and then, god willing, remember to pack the clean stuff! I am getting very close to packed, which is good, but reminds me: My cousin and I were suggesting that it was a family trait to think you are basically done with a task, when you are actually 75% done, and then stopping doing anything about it. Is that just human nature, or actual family trait?
The good news (msbelle) is that I have plenty of boxes!
I mean, run the dishwasher after I finish this amazing piece of key lime pie.
