My 13 year old nephew has a girlfriend. Her name is Bryten, pronounced Brighton. I did not flinch at all!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Thanksgiving breakfast ended (green chile egg bake, french toast, spanish tortilla from Lori and Lina, 5 bottles of Prosecco) and we now are making Thanksgiving dinner for fewer people. Nice and mellow.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Bird is stuffed and in the roaster. Brussels sprouts and tomatoes are marinating. Cranberry sauce is chilling. Need to hear the butternut squash soup, but that won't happen until the turkey is resting. Our from the local bakery, so all that's left now is cookies of doom!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

And the big dog knocked over the five year old. Woops.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Jess, so scary! I'm glad and grateful you're all all right.

The neighbors had attendees cancel on them, and have asked us over "between games" to help them consume wine and dessert. We shall take the pumpkin pie with us to share.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Stuffed and drunk, waiting for pie.

brillig

The line at the buffet went around the corner, so we went to our favorite diner, where the manager is an old friend and the wait staff has seen us all the time. It wasn't insanely busy, so they could stop by and chat occasionally, and the TV was on in the corner, and everybody got what they wanted. Not a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving, but the pie was insanely good. Home for naps. Though Hubby dumped us off to go visit his father's grave. Not sure why he wanted to go alone, but he died this time of year and Hubby can do things on his own.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Cancel the alarms! There was pie at the dinner.

hip deep in pie

Thank god! Dana.

Jess, how scary. I'm so glad you guys are okay.

Sigh. I was in a good mood most of the day. But breaking in new coworkers is hard.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Escapesgiving here went well -- I was happy of the company (especially the dogs, who were loves) and my friend seemed happy. Good lord, I really didn't realize how commercial the Macy's T-Day parade was, each and every float a commercial. Plus, when did country singers start using auto-tune?
