I heard the commentators for the parade saying they told their kids the Elf on the Shelf watched them all December to see if they were good. Bringing up good members of the surveillance society there.

The individual elves that people have in their homes are bad enough (CREEPERS!), but the giant Elf on the Shelf balloon in the parade was horrifying. THOSE EYES.
