hip deep in pie

I don't know if there will be pie at my Thanksgiving tomorrow.

This somehow seems Unamerican, said the person who celebrated Thanksgiving six weeks ago.

Apparently she was planning to serve fish until the other aunt rebelled.

Aggghhh! She must be stopped!

We are having a big rain/windstorm. I expect to lose power sometime tonight.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

If he ever has occasion to be in south Missouri, southeast Missouri, or south Alabama

I didn't even need to look at that to know it was Lambert's.

brillig

Brave Hubby went searching for a copy of the Hobbit so we can watch it before we see Pt. 2, so he braved the crowds. He found a sale wherein he got Hobbit, Great and Powerful Oz, and a used copy of Avengers for the price he was willing to pay for Hobbit. Yay, provider Hubby!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Mmmm. We're all munching on leftover spanakopita from the pan of it that I made for the potluck at work yesterday, and it's so much better than Trader Joe's it makes me want to cry when I think that this is the last of it.

We still have a crapton of other potluck leftovers, though, and tomorrow there will be yet more leftovers, but I think after they've all been plowed through I need to make another pan.

(Is it okay to swoon over my own cooking? It's the recipe (Moosewood) that makes it great.)

Happy incipient food coma to one and all (USians)! (Happy incipient Thursday and regular good food to one and all others!) (And Hanukkah!)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This is why some people prefer sweet potato rolls.

Especially if they're still frozen.

My Mom just told me I'm not supposed to talk tomorrow about my nephew’s visit to the psychiatric ward, which I didn’t know about, because nobody has talked to me about it.

...Dude. This is why Friendsgivings exist. IJS.

Also, I don't care how health conscious you are, it is an abomination to force other people to have a pie-less thanksgiving! SO WRONG.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It is unhealthy to not serve pie.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We might not be having pie. We'll have some kind of apple dessert but it may not be pie. I will report when I have definitive information.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have never made a Pecan Pie, I decide to try one, but I made a Bourbon Pecan Pie. and since the parents don't drink, and mac hates nuts it will be mine all mine, for better or worse.

Green bean casserole got done, but the butternut squash one has to wait for tomorrow. as does the whipped cream for the cranberry salad and the honey whipped cream for the pumpkin pie topping. Oh and the potatoes, forgot to cook the potatoes.

I'm gonna fish this wine and then to bed.
