Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

(Except that now I'm going to expect the Doctor to swear all the time.)

Or at the very least, some really hilarious mashups.

I mean horrible in "HOLY SHIT THAT RIPPED MY GUTS OUT AND WILL MAKE ME CRY FOREVER" kind of way. So, horrible is a good thing.

Ok, that makes total sense now.

Oh, thank god. I was all "Why is Nora possessed by THE DEVIL?"

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Calling past 12 to tell me you'll be late for *your* scheduling of "between ten and eleven" is so fucking unprofessional. At or by 11:30 is when you call. Not after noon. Especially when you estimate incorrectly.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I thought the general plot of "Children of Men" was okay, but the character writing was really off. It's almost like they decided: oh, let's kill a couple of characters. How can we do this? THIS is how.

I'm with le nubian. "Children of Men" was not the Torchwood I signed up for.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

So, looking at imdb, Peter Capaldi's previous credits include:

In Penguins of Madagascar: "Uncle Nigel".
In World War Z: "W.H.O. Doctor". Seriously.

For myself, I'm fairly pleased that they've cast an older Doctor again.

I liked Children of Earth quite a bit, even as it gutted me. I think it did well using the past and the present as well as the large scale and small. Still don't know who's going to brew all the tea, wear all the waistcoats, and be generally awesome, but thinking deeply on that still hurts.

I didn't finish the following season though. GOOD LORD.

I'm not getting the Nigel reference, bt.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I've only just finished the Eccleston run so I don't really have opinions on the newly announced Doctor.

I should get out and go to check out the neighborhood street festival. I'm kind of... meh... because I just learned that a friend and colleague died last night. Not a surprise; I was told earlier this week he was in the end stages; but still sobering. Eh. I should get out.

Recasting Clive Owen as Captain Jack really put me off the whole thing.
