I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

Ann, that's a ferret.

The Feds allow rollover 6 weeks of annual leave. (I still have 3.5 hours of use-or-lose, which I plan to use one quiet afternoon when the weather's nice.) No limit on rolling over sick leave. Starting the first of the year, if you retire with unused sick leave, you can add it to your service time for pension annuity purposes.

information libertarian

I get lots of vacation at my current job, but due to the need to maintain staffing levels, even surrounding holidays, one may not get approved to take it. For example, I was explicitly told I would never be allowed to take 3 weeks off in a row. And I am not likely to be getting Dec. 27-31 off despite asking for them because someone is retiring and someone is having open heart surgery. Luckily I am only one of 2 people in my office with school-aged children, so I should get spring break.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The Addams Family living room was pink.

Which makes me so happy I don't think I can express it in the English language, just high-pitched squeaks.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wait, you work at [redacted] with [omitted] too?

Yes! What a coincidence! I want to [deleted] his [bleep]. If I had a kitten for every time he's sent me half-unfinished or carelessly screwed-up work and I've had to send it back to him, often more than once, I could play kitten poker for the rest of my life.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

You know, I of course was thinking of you when I posted that.

not your mom's socks.

Still waiting for official word from the doc, but tests are finally done and results from the attending were best I could hope for. Stupid fibroids, no matter how extraordinary are still stupid I am relieved. Fingers crossed doc says the same.

And thank you for the ~ma. it helps a lot.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

As it turns out, the living room set was anything but goth. In fact, it was pink.

This line made me giggle.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Things that irk me, take 124: the annual email asking staff for contributions toward the boss's gift. Every year I decline, because I don't think it's appropriate for staff to buy their bosses gifts. Every year the organizer of this affront tries to guilt/shame/peer-pressure me into giving money. This year I just replied with NO. She's all huffy now.
