Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Today's my wedding anniversary, so we are going out for our traditonal In 'n Out burgers. Tomorrow, we are going on a date to the movies to see "20 Feet from Stardom." J leaves Sunday, so that night I'm going to see "The Wolverine" with friends. I'm working on my actual birthday on Tuesday, plus Jason won't be back until 10 at night, so I am considering this my birthday weekend.

Our wings are not tired

Thankfully that's now three years ago. I guess the main this I was trying to say is that I had no idea what the upper end of the pain scale was like and now, for better or worse, I know. I have an understanding of the reasons someone could black out from pain.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My former-youth group leader/former-family friend is finally going to jail. Bad news is that it's for the possession of child pornography charges, and the molestation charges are being dropped/not pursued, it seems. DIAF asshole.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This morning, as soon as I got to sunlight, I realised my top didn't match my shoes. So I went back inside (already late) and changed all my outerwear but my shoes. The purple+silver plaid shirt matches it quite decently, I think [link] Later on today I realised all my underwear matches my shoes as well [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ha! Also, cute.

I love that Christopher Reeve punked his Scientology auditor with a bogus past life story when he was considering joining the "church": [link]

I've worn these purple shoes way more often than a number of my black ones. Good call, self!

I'm trying to work out if the phrase "like fanfic" means anything. If the Dresden Files read like fanfic, or if a TV show is like fanfic, is there meaning left to "like fanfic"?

Since I maintain it means "not officially part of the property" I am trying to get people to say they mean "sucks" and then ask them why not "like bad fanfic?" What's the real quality they're trying to identify?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, I do not have CBS on my Time Warner cable because of a TW/CBS dispute. I am so pissed off and Beau is not happy because NFL pre-season starts in a week.

So on my list of to dos is to call Direct TV tomorrow and see when we can get tv.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oooh, that sucks. But DirecTV is good for NFL games, that's for sure.

I know I've temporarily not had a few stations on occasion because of disputes, but CBS? That's hardcore.

Time Warner has been talking shit about them for weeks now, leading up to this. I don't think I watch anything on there in the summer--::searches for Under The Dome:: ::shrugs::
