Does this mean you are okay for at least a week?
It gets me to tomorrow's normal meds in a sane manner. I spent most of Thursday as immobile as I've ever been conscious, pausing only to take another half Ambien each time one wore off, because sleep was the only thing that didn't send my brain sloshing around the molten glass lining my skull. I think that, combined with the steroids, took me off the critical list, but any twitch sent me back again.
But UCLA hasn't seen me for a headache in 6 months or so, and it wasn't the normal ER, so those factors both helped them give me the right amount of meds, even if it was in two batches. They were kind, and they were gentle, and the earplugs issued in defence of the short-of-hearing conversations going on across the curtain were surprisingly effective.
I had a ticket for Thor 2 this morning, but I banged my head leaving the apartment. I have coffee at 1 with a friend of my sister that I've bailed on once so far. So I bailed on Asgard and the money instead, just to be sure. Lying down, hydrating, planning today's photo and today's drawing--through all this I have not dropped the ball on either, although a couple self portraits have been perfunctory web cam jobbies, not the painting with light that's my current goal.

Holy guacamole, you are an amazing woman, ita. I am impressed that you can keep working on your art even with that kind of pain.
Speaking of art, I wrote a bunch today, but then had to quit so I could grade. Taking a big chunk of tomorrow off to see my friend's opera company perform.
I'm glad you got some amount of treatment, at least, ita.
I just went out scouting for boxes, figuring I wouldn't find any today, but to think about where to go back to during the week, and after a year and a half of complaining about/being confused by the lack of a liquor store in my neighborhood? I realized what was the liquor store. It has t-shirts in the front window! And liquor behind them.
I am impressed that you can keep working on your art even with that kind of pain.
Call it self defense. I don't want to feel any more miserable than I already am. I'm behind on so much (including making my apartment nurse-ready for tomorrow) but if I can do fair by the daily photo and the daily picture (only 7 more days of those to go!) I'm getting out of bed for something (well, for the photo--don't need to get out of bed to draw).
And sometimes something different pops up! I worked in colour yesterday, for no reason other than colour. Not even as part of the daily pics.
Yo Is This Racist played my question! What?!?! Andrew Ti just called me "this lady."
Oh, hah, I totally recognized your voice, even before remembering you mentioning what you asked here on borg!
Matt, oh my goodness. Do cats like denim or something?
I don't know. Jackson had been fine in my room overnight, and this was within 30 minutes of Molly being let in, so I don't know if she just really,
really
needed to go or if it was a protest over me trying to sleep in instead of immediately putting out cat food. Up til now they've both been awesome about only using the litterbox.
I also found my neighbor's Maine coon Beau in the hallway outside my door when I left for lunch, and he was still out in the stairwell meowing when I checked back by before leaving for work. No one answered the door downstairs and I can't really let him into my apartment when there are two unfamiliar cats half his size inside (not to mention I think Molly is going into her first heat), so I just gave him a water dish and am crossing my fingers no one lets him escape the building.
