Oh yeah, we only used that for races where we didn't have good info and there was no party affiliation or whatever. I would vote against the gay dude for mayor, I I hadn't forgotten my ballot, and probably would've voted against the lesbian if I lived in NYC, so it doesn't work for bigger races.

Yeah. It was stupid, and people overreacted, but that's fandom for you. I like to think well of people, I'm not a sneaky person, and I feel like that element of my personality was taken advantage of by people I trusted. I dislike this intensely.

Voting for the women around here is not always a good option, there are some radically right wing females around here that would make Darth Cheney weep in pride. There was a woman on one ballot, but her statement of position was more "I'm a homemaker and small business woman, so I understand how important it is run an organization efficiently" and "all we need is for everyone to work together for a common goal," which is true but a little light on practicalities.

For the record, assuming DiBlasio wins, the Greater Boston Area will continue its reign over NYC -- remember, Bloomberg is from Medford MA, and DIBlasio went to the same high school as me!
