Much patience-ma. Remember, you'll get money out of it if you wait.
I'm continuing with Project Paper Sort, and have run across several sympathy cards from last year that got filed unopened what with all the back and forth I was doing at the time. I'm going to hang them up on a bulletin board to remind myself that people cared.
I tried to trace back all this apocalyptic talk, and I swear it almost all comes from one journalist with no particular qualifications. Here's a bottom line: The absolute worst conceivable scenarios at Fukushima cannot be worse than Chernobyl, and we're all still here. Also, NUCLEAR FUEL CANNOT EXPLODE. *head desk head desk head desk*
But Ginger, this nuclear incident is in Japan. OMGWTFBBQ! GODZILLA IS GOING TO WAKE UP AND EAT US ALLLLLL!!!1!
I for one welcome our giant radiation-mutated overlords.
Morning peoples.
So my sister is very frail and losing strength. I would say she is now dying in earnest, but because she is young, she is dying slowly. I do not know how long she has left. But she has come to some sort of peace with it, although she does not want to die just yet. I am glad that I took this week off from work to be here.
I'm going to try to set up a CNA to come be with her during the days, just so that she has attentive care when she needs it.
I'm so sorry, Burrell. But I'm glad you can be with her.
I'm glad you took the week off too. You needed it on several fronts.
Hubby says he saw a story about oar fish--those gigantic things coming ashore in Southern Cali--that says those fish are known to beach themselves before tidal wave events. Apprently, oar fish came ashore before the Japanese earthquake but the story was not made widely known for fear of fear. He watches a lot of international news and picked this up there. I'm too lazy to get the citations.
Re: Daily Show--Jon Stewart has always been dismayed that his show is considered real news. I remember his magnificent Crossfire interview, where he said "You're CNN! I follow a show about puppets making crank calls!" And "I won't be your monkey."
Burrell, I am sorry to hear this, and wish a peaceful passing for your sister, and strength to you and your family. I'm glad you took this week off.
Much love to you.
Oh yes. There were 2-3 big ass fish found in SoCal. The news in CA discussed this quite a bit in the last week. I did not know there was a connection to global events though. The news mentioned scientists were trying to figure out why the fish were here.
Here is the story:

Oh, Burrell. So much sympathy for you, and for her.
I'm so glad she's come to peace with it, of a sort. It's my biggest regret about my mother--between her mental health issues and her dementia, she was incapable of even beginning to process the idea of dying, and as a result she was panicky and terrified. I felt so bad for her.
