No, it's shiny! I like to meet new people. They've all got stories...

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Very true. It ranges from easy fix to extraordinarily extensive and painful damage. I hope the students have quick recoveries.

I was surprised, that the second student, whose appendix did not burst, still had collateral damage. Crazy.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Good god, you guys, I haven't gotten a haircut since July. (I had to check Quicken to verify that.) That's...well, that's what happens when you're fundamentally lazy and no longer work across the street from your salon. I look like a Yeti.

But I just made an appointment for Monday. My stylist will probably faint when I walk in. Hell, she probably thinks I got mad and found a new stylist after she had surgery in August and couldn't do my wedding hair. Well, once she sees me, she'll know that isn't true. Yeti is maybe not my best-ever look.

Our wings are not tired.

I know I am not alone in wanting photographic proof of yeti status.

No one can get a picture of the yeti!

...right? We don't have cable, so I have no idea if the guys on the Bigfoot hunters show have gotten selfies with Bigfoot or what.

I'm sure the stylist will be happy to see you.

DH is already snoring and I am headed to bed too. Can't even make it to 10pm. Of course I will be up early. It still surprises me that I ended up early to bed early to rise girl. Never saw that one coming in my earlier years.

Signed, old lady, not as sexy as Scrappy.

Dual Appendix update:

Student #1 got to go home today, well, back to his campus housing, he's not flying back to Chicago area. So, he's in good spirits. His apartment is on the 3rd floor, so, I don't expect him to be out n about for a couple days. Sounds like he's moving slow n gingerly.

Student #2 is still in the hospital. I got to visit him tonight. He's in good spirits. Ready to go home. They are keeping him in, until he can break wind or move a bowel. Poor fella. He's a rather muscular guy, and he's saying his energy is pretty tapped. Not looking forward to the climb up to his apartment on the second floor, but, wanting to get out of the hospital.

Omnis, much ~ma for your students. That is a freaky coincidence.

One of my leg braces has started to crack, and the other pair I have don't fit at all because they were made when I was taking steroids and my legs were all swollen. I have an appointment in two weeks. The brace shop may be able to make the other ones fit me while I wait for the new ones to be finished. But I'm really hoping the ones I am wearing will hold on a little longer.

Yikes SJ! Are they the plastic variety or the metal flavor? If plastic, would criss cross application of duct tape help slow down the cracking and keep things together?

Plastic. Do you share a brain with my husband? That was his suggestion. Also maybe some sort of glue. We're going to see what we can do tonight when he gets home tonight. In the meantime, I'm using it as an excuse to sit on the couch and not get up too much.

Great minds think alike.

Duct tape has a grain to it, hence the idea to criss cross layers. I'd say inside and outside, although the inside layer might need to be less tape, so you fit in the brace. Not sure about glue, unless the brace has some thickness to it.
