Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I think being upset about your wedding dress being damaged is perfectly reasonable. And, while it's not okay or fair, I get not having spoons. Without a time machine, you can't change what happened. But I am really sorry.

Successfully injected the diabetic cat. Go team me.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We completely rearranged most of our kitchen cabinets today so that I don't have to worry about the things I really need to cook being out of reach and causing another disaster like a broken stove. We still have to sort through out mugs and dishes, but having the pots, pans, and baking dishes rearranged is already a huge improvement. We sort of just put stuff anywhere when we first moved in, just to get unpacked, but since I refuse to ever move again, we figured it was time to arrange things more logically. TCG is a master at making too much stuff fit into a small space.

Teppy also sorry. I wonder if the cleaners really followed directions or of they did something wrong and pretended they did not. I understand not having the spoons to pursue. As I get older I find myself letting shit go I never would have when my health was better.

Oh experiment tonight. A poultry loaf using various ingredients that we were overstocked on. Ground turkey, ground chicken, egg whites, english muffin crumbs, TJ southern greens, leeks, fresh parsley, two onions. flavoring: lemon juice, soy milk, Olive oil /salt, pepper garlic. Baking in roasting pan for 55 minutes at 350. Will check at 45 minutes to see if it will need longer or shorter.

Thanks for the commiseration and suggestions, you guys! I'm still stung, although in the light of day, it does seem like it will look cool as a black dress, because it still has the sparkle in it. And that, of course, is the weirdest part -- it's like all the blue fell out. If I had washed it in water, I would say the blue dye washed out. Although I don't know that it was an overdyed fabric -- can you overdye black with any color and make the color show up? Tim said it was almost like the fabric was painted (but not exactly). (And he's so sweet: he said "You KNOW that I understand how important a dress is, right?")

Since the dress isn't designed with single-use in mind, the manufacturer may well be happy to hear about this problem. Unless this is why they don't sell it anymore.

I think I'll take pictures of it and email the manufacturer. And I am wondering if this is why they don't sell it any more. (Although I realize they rotate styles to stay current.) It's weird as hell, and makes me sad.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I think I just fell in love with Tim a little bit. What a guy! You are a lucky woman, Steph.

We just got back from a sushi-making class (thank you, Groupon!), weather be damned. I can't believe how easy it is to make rolls! So fun, too.

And now we're going to try to unfuck the office. It is really scary and hoarder-like. We're going to try UFYH's 20/10 method and see how it goes.

brillig

I went through a sushi making phase, had some very pleasant afternoons outside rolling and eating sushi. But cooking the rice and all the cleanup took the joy out of it.

Yeah, I bet the cleanup is a pain, with the sticky rice and nori that flakes off, etc. But it was so easy! I am totally going to make sushi for whatever shindig happens next.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's not that bad, the key is to do it immediately, before the sticky rice dries.
