Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

So...acute stabbing pain in the urethra, no burning while peeing, slight dull pain left side, middle of back, might have low-grade fever. No other symptoms, this just started about 45 minutes ago.

Drink water and wait it out, or Urgent Care?

The side pain sounds like a kidney infection. I vote Urgent Care.

Cat~ma, Beth.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

In totally unrelated news, did I tell you how impresses a couple of my coworkers were when I showed up for that Halloween party in an actual racing jumpsuit? And that it was pink? Tres impressive.

That's fantastic!

We ended up picking a design that had room for one line at the top to list the parents, where, because of the way the text boxes were placed, there was room for "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and "Mr. and Mrs. Jones", which we just changed to "The Family of the Bride" and "The Family of the Groom" and then braced ourselves for wailing and gnashing of teeth that someone deserved to be listed by name on the invitation.

Weddings are a series of "who is going to be unintentionally offended next?"

Funnily, at my sister's wedding this summer, I had a few people tell me how pissed they were that I wasn't standing up for her. Frankly, I was okay with it. But it was sweet they got so rankled on my behalf.

Drink water and wait it out, or Urgent Care?

Sounds like Urgent. I mean, drink water but that sounds like something to get seen sooner rather than later.

well he is there. I feel better now that I am home .

Best thoughts for Nathaniel and for you. I am glad you having something you'll eat. Neglecting our bodies during stress doesn't help us deal with the stress any better.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Weddings are a series of "who is going to be unintentionally offended next?"

I swear that I have wedding planning PTSD. I still see things and think "We could do that," and then I remember I don't have to do that shit ever again (please god), and the relief is palpable.

We have 2 weddings to go to this year where all we have to do is dress nicely, send a gift, show up, shed a tear or two, and party down, and I CANNOT WAIT. Seriously. Tim's niece got engaged about a month before our wedding, and AT OUR WEDDING I looked at them and almost started laughing hysterically, because all I could think was "You poor bastards. YOU'RE NEXT."

I was perhaps not the world's best bride. Or planner, at least.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

The stabbing pains have stopped; I'm just drinking a lot of water, and seeing how I feel tomorrow. UC is a big co-pay for us, so it would be better to go during regular hours if it's not PAINPAINPAIN now. (And if I didn't go to UC for 6 gall bladder attacks, I can wait it out till tomorrow since no fever or nausea. But if those pains come back, I will. They were, uh, painful pains.)

Thanks, all!

I get that. It sucks because we're monetizing pain but I have an iffy tooth that I am totally monetizing Right Now, so I get it. And if stabbing pains have stopped, that's good. Just do go if they stabby again. Hopefully you can just do regular hours care.

Strix, that makes sense, but if you have any pain or any fever tomorrow, please go see your PCP.
