Hubby's second round of chemo is next week. This is the first time the clinic in our town has run this particular group of drugs. Hubby's oncologist trained with the oncologist he was seeing at Big Name Clinic in Salt Lake City, but he's nervous about running this on his own, so Hubby will be admitted to the hospital Thursday for an overnight observation while they run one batch of drugs. This reassures me, actually, because the doc is being careful. And I don't have to be responsible for watching him.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Car is ok. It took about 45 minutes of trying every five minutes and it going up a few inches at a time, but the window is back up and I have stuck an Apollo 13 style "NO!" piece of tape over the switch.
Cancelled with the student, so am now trying to make the best out of my day and salvage some productivity out of the unexpected time.
It is reassuring that the local oncologist is proceeding with an abundance of caution. Beats hell out of the don't give a crap doctors.
Yay for closed window! It is good that you were able to spend as much time with her as you did last night.
We were very relieved when Big Name Clinic oncologist said, "Oh, Local Doc is one of my students, he can handle this." Local Doc is probably going "I can't screw this up and look bad to my mentor!" I'm all for that. Like when surgeons say, "I'm a little beat after the last nine hours of multiple surgeries, do you mind if I take a nap before yours?" We're all "No, please, doc, be well-rested and fresh before you take a knife to my flesh."
Connie, I'm glad they're taking good care of your DH, and I hope that he reacts well to this next round.
Whew, glad that one is behind you, sj. The medical folks need to have their heads filled with all that info, not you. I hope they were able to give you reassurance.
Unfortunately, we need to know quite a bit ourselves. It's lots of drugs and shots that need to be taken on different schedules, including one shot where two vials of powder need to be mixed with a vial of saline.
all our trucks got back safely and we all went home before noon. I guess I am supposed to be working from home, but instead I went to Target and bought groceries and got meds. I did slide up and into a curb, but did not see any damage to my car. An hour until I can get mac.
I am baking a cauliflower, and sitting here under down, wearing fleece tights under sweatpants, and it has gotten up to 66 in here!
I dumped half my lunch on the floor. Graceful. Trying to clean up the mess has been interesting as I can't kneel. Or if I did, I wouldn't be able to get up.
Ouch Suzi!
Much ~ma to Suzi, sj, Connie's DH, indeed anyone who needs it.
Has anyone seen my motivation? Everything seems like an onerous task today and getting work done is like swimming upstream through a vat of vaseline.
