No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

YAY Nora. AWESOME!

YAY good eye surgery!

It is 17 and snowing and sticking and no one predicted this and we have full tankers out on the roads trying to get to job sites. They stopped loading more after I got in around 8:15, but ugh for my guys out there in it, it is slippery.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh no, msbelle. And the SO is there too right now.

yeah, they said a dusting and well, nsm. It is still falling. I mean, I would not cancel schools for this, but it is borderline for us. surface streets will be a little slick, but it is all the elevated highways that are super no bueno.

Yeah and you guys have those funky "we don't believe in cloverleafs" soaring aerial overpass entrances and exits.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh msbelle, good thoughts for your drivers on the roads.

Ugh. Apparently the heating in my house is only meant for normal Seattle weather--it generally keeps it pretty warm in here (though I've felt this year like it's less warm than in past years, where it would be TOO warm. Not sure why). But apparently it's only 24 degrees out right now...and even though I had the heat going all night long at its supposed top output, it's only 63 in here now. WTF.

Also, cramps. I am back in bed with a heating pad and cocoa.

I predict insulation companies making a killing this spring, summer and fall as people double down on winter prep.

I know that is part of my plan.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, that does not sound right meara.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aargh.

So I was up half the night on facebook with a former student in a tough spot making suicidal sounding posts. She's ok. But I was supposed to have lunch with her this afternoon (previously planned) and now I screwed up and while I was warming up the car forgot that the left passenger window will roll down but not back up and it is stuck.

So now I have to call her and I have to probably deal with wrangling it to get it towed and the repair shop and it's supposed to rain and snow today. I'm half inclined to just tape a tarp to it and leave it for the SO to deal with when he gets home. But that would put me without a car.

I'm waiting for it to warm up now and I'll try again, but I'm pretty dubious at this point this is going to magically fix itself.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The appointment went well this morning, but my brain is currently filled with way too much medical information.

Typo, I'm glad the eye surgery went well.

Go, Nora!

Stay safe, msbelle.

I'm sorry about the heating situation, meara. I think we need to look into some extra insulation too. The living room and dining room are always nice and warm, but the bedrooms are much colder.

Liese, car~ma to you and ~ma to your former student as well.
