[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I hope 42 is a good year for you, Cass and Teppy. I'm sure it was a good year for other people. But I gotta say, mine was a pretty horrible year.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Cass, buy yourself a towel. You deserve a really, really nice one. Bathsheet. Fluffy.

(My favorite towel is the one I got for my friend's 42nd birthday, which was unfortunately a year and a half after he died. But I got him a really nice one. I figured he'd have appreciated it, as I've never met a bigger Douglas Adams fan than he was, and that he would never begrudge me his spirit towel.)

Which reminds me, I STILL need to get myself a second memorial towel for someone who died at almost 42.

Towels have become very meaningful to me.

I'll chime in as a counter example to say that 42 wasn't bad for me. In fact, compared to previous years, it was pretty good, all told. And 43 is starting out fantastic. And I think I even had friends drag me out on my birthday, and I had fun and stuff.

But 42 was definitely the year I finally dragged myself out of the mire of suck that I've been through recently.

Punishingly Intricate

42 was an awesome year for me to get married! I highly recommend that for you, Teppy!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am thinking that the year can be better than the start. And I have us. We're pretty awesome and geeky.

Towels have become very meaningful to me.

Plus, towels.

There are days that the most well-meaning people who understand me the least ask how I am and the answer in my brain is that I know where my towel is. Because the rest has gone to hell. But I know that much.

I have Bert brows because I realized that if I am busy from tomorrow morning and my brows needed to be tinted and tweezed (okay, waxed but I missed that window), I ought to get on that. Hopefully my skin will release the dye overnight. It usually does. I slathered on the squelchy moisturizer. I need to tweeze a lot in the next few days.

Speaking of squelchy moisturizer, I've found something I love more than the Weleda Skin Food! With bees!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I need to figure out how to tweeze my brows because clearly I'll never arse myself to go have someone else tweeze them. They'd be a fright if they weren't naturally an acceptable shape, but they look so much nicer when they are all cleaned up.

Ohh, Cass, you are reminding me, I should touch up my hair. I'm pretty sure that people who aren't me can see the greys by now. Boy I got a lot of grey these days. Not enough to be all grey, just enough to look like my hair has faded. feh.

ND just turned 42 in April! An awful lot of awesome people were born that year, sounds like.

Yeah, I'm going to want to sample that next time I see you. BEES! Even in the desert, my Weleda is going to last a long time, so I'm in no hurry.

That's what I dislike about my hair going gray, I just feel faded. But I think I am getting at least one temple actually stepping up. After intense family scrutiny dims a bit (hopefully after my sister's wedding in July), I might grow it out and see where I really do have gray. Thanks to fabulous genes, I think it's all going to be white or silver which is awesome.

Mine right now is just where I would normally ignore it but wish I felt like I had time to color it tonight just because family dinner on Saturday. Oh well. It's a tad dim but not really screaming grays.

We're a bunch of awesome. Granted, we've had a hard few years, but we're good and we've got amazing friends to hold us up the rest of the time.
