Argh. This cold is starting to kick my ass (I was awful on Monday, sorta OK Tues/Wed/Thurs, and now I have hit the congested and coughing time). I don't think I should go out dancing tonight. But I wanna go out dancing tonight! Also, because I don't have evening plans the rest of the weekend. BOO I SAY.

Maybe the sudafed I've been taking has been going to Teppy. All back-channel like.

My sinuses ARE nice and clear!

I actually feel the early flutter of a migraine, so maybe the jitters were a warning sign. Although I don't recall ever getting the jitters before a migraine. It's usually an eye twitch or really tight shoulders.

Okay, we went with Anchorman. I'm generally not a big Will Ferrell fan, nor am I a fan of flat-out stupid humor. But -- I know this is convoluted -- the preview for Anchorman *2* looked really funny, not stupid-funny, so I figured the first one was probably funny, too.

Not the funniest thing I've seen, but it had some seriously hilarious parts.

And I sort of suspect I'm Brick. ("To you I would like to extend an invitation...to the pants party.")

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I wish excerise, chocolate, or booze would help my jitters. For two weeks i've been feeling like my heart is about to beat right out of my chest. Figured it was from going up on neurontin, but went back down (and then off together) and no love from within my ribcage. Even went to the Dr today and got an EKG just to make sure it wasn't anything serious (it's not, my heart, pulse, and blood pressure are all great) and there shouldn't be any neurontin left in my system now so....that's not it. *sigh* Haven't tried combining chocolate and booze yet...which I could, haven't taken any muscle relaxers today and not taking anything heavier than melatonin at night....yeah....that's a really good idea. Gonna try that now.

And I have an apple pie cake in the oven. Won't be able to eat it tonight, but with the all day nausea since rising I don't really feel like solids anyways. My amazing PCP is in Hawaii this week (boo for me, yay for her) so I saw a diff Dr in the practice today who told me that nausea can be related to cervical (neck) dysfunction. Huh, never heard that before, even from the many Chiro's I've been through over the years. And I do have random unexplained nausea fairly often and chronic neck problems. Hrm. She didn't give a solution, just correlation, so I may have to look into that more. After self treating all my problems with spiked hot cocoa.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The Ocho cracked me up when I watched Anchorman.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

erin_o I hope you get some relief from the nausea and thumpy-heart soon.

I have to work today, and I wish I didn't. I want so much to go back to bed. I woke up at five and naturally didn't start feeling sleepy again until shortly before it is time to get ready to leave. Bleh.

Good morning everyone!

I have a nice story to share...not exactly worthy of Good Stuff, but it is good stuff none the less.

Yesterday, one of our client dogs was stolen from her home during a burglary.

Can you imagine? Margo is a 2.5 year old Cockapoo, who is her person's centerpoint. E, the human, was understandably out of his mind.

As a company, we did everything we could to help, including having the walkers put up posters. The guy was really smart though, he went straight to the media and offered a $10,000 reward...much more than a miscreant could get by selling her.

This morning, she was found...with some of the things taken from the house...following an anonymous tip. Safe, sound and happy.

Our relief, as a company, goes beyond our love for the critter...which is huge. The bad guys entered the house through a door we don't have a key for, so Margo's walker (who is a sweet guy and one of our franchisees) can finally stop second guessing himself.

We are all just so grateful.

And. Who STEALS A DOG!? Burglary is a crime of opportunity. What seems convenient about opening a crate, snagging a leash and taking a dog? I'm just shaking my head.

PRO TIP: On the posters and in the news stories, the owner published the microchip number. Not just that a chip was present, but now every vet/shelter/PD in the area could have helped.

Smart.

I saw that story on Facebook. That dog is super-cute.

Also, bonny, a regular patron at the library where I work talked to me for some time this week about the Great Peace March! He said he and one other guy (named Hippie, who wore a helmet) were the only people who walked the entire thing. He is probably in his 60s and wears a straw sombrero at all times. He's eccentric, but unlike some of our more eccentric patrons seems to be operating without excess input from space or drugs.

Was his name Jerry, by any chance?

Martin (Born Again) Hippie, is a lovely man. He recently ran for Congress, bless him. He did, indeed, walk every step of the way. There were actually 15 people who added 300 miles to the 3742 miles the rest of us did, to ensure the integrity of the March.

We had to bus through Utah (due to bureaucratic misbehavior...ie, they lied to me) and through a pass in Colorado (due to active blasting on the only road we could walk). Martin, his brother and a hardy (hearty too) band of folks bailed out our compromised intention.

How cool is it that you got to make a personal connection like that, flea!?

We truly are everywhere.

Did you mention that you know me? I can imagine...especially if it was Jerry...such a revelation would not be met with peace and love.

My job was massively misunderstood by the City we moved every day. Especially by those as dedicated at those who could not fathom anything but one foot in front of another. I'm grateful for their dedication but did not love how at odds we occasionally had to be.

I didn't mention you for exactly that reason - I figured that the chances of him being grumpy were about even with the chances of him being happy, and not worth the risk. I don't know his name. He talked about amassing more archival material about the march (he knows about the collection at Swarthmore) and maybe writing a book. He was looking for a copy of a book about the march written by two women from New Zealand.
