I just realized NYE is tomorrow. I mean, I knew it was Tuesday, but with being sick and not working regular hours, I kinda forgot tomorrow is Tuesday.

My big plans are chaparoning CJ and a few of his buddies having a game night. Woooooo-hoooooo. I'll be reading and watching movies in my room.

I want to make cookies, but part of me is worried about still being germy from being sick.

I have no plans to do anything special for NYE. As usual. I used to feel all lonesome, not going out or hanging with friends, and now I'm just glad I can go to bed as soon as the stupid ball falls down. Because I always watch it, anyway. I guess I'm old. Whatever.

I'm going to a party at my sister's for NYE. I'm going to be driving into NYC, and it's the first time I'll have done that, so a little nervous, but I was ok driving in DC, and I've driving on NJ highways plenty of times, so my mom and sister both said that, if I can do those, then I can drive in NY. And I've got a GPS, so I can concentrate on my driving rather than having to think about where I'm going. (Although, since my sister lives in my grandparents' old apartment, I've been sitting in the car for the drive from here to there several hundred times at least. I really ought to know it by now.)

I go to bed before ball drops, because it is bad tv and I really like sleep. in fact, goodnight.

Anyway, Ginger, I hope this round of blood tests and treatments are not too hideously stressful for you.

I've been sick and have NYE plans . there is a progressive dinner. DH is involved in the house that is making the main course. am nowhere near sure that I will make it until midnight. and we have a NYD brunch.

the weirdest thing about this is that when I told DH this - he got all worried. I've been sick for 4 days. I'm getting better . I'm just being smart about this.

We have a history of truly horrible NYE's. Once we went to a party where the hosting husband discovered, at the party, that his wife had been cheating on him. Once everyone left at, like 10:30, only we didn't notice in time to leave ourselves, so it ended up being just us and the hosts and one other guy. All kinds of stuff. Only a few have ever been even tolerable.

This year we've pre-empted it by not being able to make it to our friends' party. Thereby not ruining their party. But we are going to make a quick trip to the Valley to run some errands. So our celebratory part will be brief, and we're likely to be asleep long before time, but we're at least making a day of it. Attempting to, anyway.

We are not going to our usual party as, it turns out, we weren't invited seeing as Joe broke up with the hosts and all. I'm okay with it and a little sad. But instead were are going to two other awesome parties and we are going to have a fantastic time.

Joe and I used to get into horrible, horrible fights on NYE, but we don't anymore. We both pulled our heads out of our butts and the past couple have been awesome.
