From what co-worker said, her family has offered a little to help, but not covering anything close to all of it. His family flat out said "No! You can't suddenly say "oh last week we got engaged, can you help us with the costs", things that expensive need to be planned and saved for, we are not helping with any of the costs."
There is still 6 months or so. Who knows what will happen.

Hubby's up and feeling good enough to make dinner. He should be back to normal in just a couple of days. Of course, normal to him is forcing himself through massive pain and stubbornly insisting that he knows his capabilities better than a doctor, even to the point of delaying recovery. But that's him.
He doesn't take his pain pills. I ask him if we're going to be doing a variant of Breaking Bad. He's not amused.

We (meaning Tim the cookie monster) got ALL THE COOKIES at Trader Joe's over the weekend. Candy Cane Joe-Joe's, the box of multi-flavor chocolate-coated Joe-Joe's, dark chocolate-covered shortbread star cookies. He needs an intervention.

I grabbed that too, but there were a ton of those left, so it didn't feel as much of a victory. I also bought triple ginger cookies, stocking stuffers for TCG and candy to go for other relatives for gifts.
I need to run over in a bit and get some stuff to eat on my trip tomorrow, but I don't wanna put shoes on and leave the house. I'm already bailing on a happy hour thing (tons of ladies I don't know!!! ...but no one I know, so I felt like it would be awkward), but promised I'd go to a burlesque show later, so I need to do it soon....
