Yay Aims!
I'm curled up on the sofa with a heated blanket, with a heating pad around my shoulders, using a steam inhaler with a drop of eucalyptus oil added to the water. Can winter be over soon?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is the difference between whole life and term life? Is term life essentially a bet that you'll need it before the term is up, and if not the insurance company goes Cha-ching! and invites you to play again?
Basically yes. Note that the insurance company expects to turn a profit on either product. Term life isn't a better deal for them, necessarily. (Actually, it probably is on one score, people are less likely to cancel partway through and stiff them on the administrative costs. They are likely to charge penalties in the early years because of that.) Either way, the longer one stays alive, the better it is for the insurance company.
I PICKED UP MY CAP AND GOWN, Y'ALL! !
Congratulations!

Better for everyone, one assumes.

YAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
I'm tracking my food intake for the sole purpose of making sure I get enough fiber
Green smoothies. They are some sort of crazy dark magic
What do you put in them?
You're going to say kale. I know it.
Yay for cap and gown!!!
Boo for all the other bad news. My bad news isn't as bad, but I'm at urgent care right now waiting to find out if I broke something in my foot or tore my plantar fasciitis. Dammit.
Congrats, Aims!
WRT fiber and lower intestinal health and whatnot, I cannot recommend enough trying to manage hemorrhoids, diverticula, and the like with diet, esp lots of fiber AND a good probiotic. My fiber intake is generally good because I love salads and cruciforms and eat lots of both. But even so my hemorrhoids would act up whenever my diet faltered. But now I'm taking a probiotic to counteract the long-term antibiotics I'm on, and lo and behold, no problems ever since I started them. I'm a convert.
You're going to say kale. I know it.
Kale is the new oat bran, as Michael Pollan would say. I've read that asparagus is crazy good for you, and it's delicious. It does have the unfortunate stinky pee effect, but no veggie is perfect. Except of course the avocado.
Good probiotics are god. (I'm a hippie and make my own kombucha, which also seems to help.)

I have never developed a taste for asparagus. Virtually every other veggie, including brussels sprouts, but not asparagus.
I'm eating a giant salad for dinner (with avocado), so that should get my fiber for the day over the top.

Nope, haven't tried making kale smoothies yet, because Pete recoils in horror at the notion.
Smoothie recipe (serves 2): 2 C. almond milk (I use vanilla flavored), 2 C. raw spinach (sometimes a little more), 3Tbs. hemp protein powder, 1 tsp. Cacao Bliss ("good" fats, plus chocolate for antioxidants it's totally healthy shut up), and 1.5 C. frozen blueberries.
No spinach taste whatsoever. It looks like primordial ooze, but it's tasty.
