To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I'd read that.

In related bondage news, this morning I woke to EVERY collar in the house not currently on a cat scattering around my bedroom floor. I didn't even know I'd held on to that many used cat collars for no apparent reason. Gonna have to move that storage box to somewhere that isn't quite as easy for Nico to get into. Interestingly, he leaves all the nip toys inside, just pulled out all the collars. Cat's got priorities. I have no idea what they are, but to him they must be clear.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think this may be my stupidest injury yet. I got my finger caught in the folding mechanism of a ladder. I wasn't folding or unfolding the ladder at the time. The ladder was folded up, leaning against the wall, and I was walking by it, and suddenly, finger stuck. It's turning some interesting colors. On my left hand, so I'll be fine with writing, but probably won't be playing guitar for a few days.

hip deep in pie

Ouch, Hil.

I slammed my hand into the metal frame of my cubicle today. I just had no sense of moving in space.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm at the point with the dog bite that it's healed enough that my body is not instinctively shying away from using the hand, so I keep unthinkingly grabbing or lifting shit. Ow.

Compassionately intolerant

brenda, I feel you...or rather, I feel your pain.

Months later, I am still feeling the effects of my bites. Thankfully, the numbness in my left thumb has lessened quite a bit.

The middle fingers of the right hand still hurt every time someone shakes my hand. For an affable creature like myself, it's a massive bummer.

I still find myself unconsciously rubbing the scars on my forearms.

Just the other day, I got bit again! Not really a bite, I guess, more of a nip that resulted in a bruise. Again, not a doggy lama client but a poor Lab who has had 2 major surgeries in the last two weeks. A SIX pound tumor taken off of his spleen...and then the very next week, bloat. Bloat is massively scary and far too often fatal. This poor dude has been through the ringer. I don't begrudge his grumpiness.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Read this as Windsparrow for half a sec, then remembered the context. Then thought that I bet WindSparrow probably would be such a pleasant, comforting presence if you were feeling less than 100%.

Well, I try. Also, I can give the stink-eye to people who aren't behaving well enough toward someone else.

That's a hunting behavior. I'm not sure whether it translates to taunting about the catch or "come and get it!"

Ouch. What the hell! Nobody expects a ladder to jump out and bite them.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

That's a hunting behavior.

Aw, that reminds me of how my old cat used to play with twist-ties. She would jump up on the counter, pry open the cutlery drawer, fish out a twist-tie and drop it on the floor. She would then pounce on it, batting it around the kitchen and have a grand old time chasing it around. Once she decided to "catch" it, she would parade around the house with it in her mouth, making proud yowly noises. It's good to have a cat who can entertain herself.

I hope all the Buffista injuries feel better this morning.

Not injured, but I went to bed last night with a flexeril and some Sudafed...at 730pm. And slept until morning. But the good news is I feel ok right now, so the meds and sleep may have done the trick. Whew.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Thanks for the congrats. Of course, since I seem to be incapable of not having something to stress about, I'm now panicking (sp?) about how much stuff I have coming out of storage (and I have to get it all out as it's with the moving company that moved me in June). I know I have to cull, but I'm seriously worried about even having the room to do that once it's all in and can get into to things to figure out what to cull.

I really wish I could have done more of that after the fire, but the atmosphere was so toxic (on a number of levels) that I just packed most of the salvable stuff up I wasn't bringing with me at the time and had it stored, and it's a lot. I'm pretty much going to have to make sure the furniture comes in first before the boxes, because I'm probably going to have to have that put where it's going to stay (if it stays).

I'm hoping I'm overreacting.
