now I can go - and the RSVP date was October 15th.
Oh, please. You have to try WAY harder to get me to disapprove! We built in a 1- or 2-week buffer on our RSVP date because we knew not everyone would reply on time (or at all). I hope it works out so you can go!
I got a followup email today for a Save the Date with the subject line of "STD."
Seriously. The wedding blogs I read all talk about Save the Date cards as STDs. It's hilarious. And unsettling.
She called back and I can go! Looks like I'll be in the Bay Area a few days before to get the best airfare rates. Not sure where I'm going to stay. My dad will be out of the country but maybe I can crash in his basement anyway.
I have to admit that part of the reason I want to go is cause I wasn't invited to the wedding of another cousin on that side of the family. From the pictures I've seen it was a small wedding and I get all that. I just have issues with that bit of the family - her sister moved out to Colorado for a couple of years and I never knew until she moved back. Geee...thanks for keeping me in the loop.
Yay, Suzi! I'm glad you're going to be able to go.
It's a busy night I the library bookstore, which is a nice change from last time. The only bad part is I'm finding too many good things to buy.
I did not grade the quizzes that I meant to grade today. I took a nap instead. Then I started watching the video lectures for an online class, got bored with that, took the quiz anyway, and got 100%, because with the exception of one question (whose answer was in the part of the video I did watch), just about all of the answers were really easy to figure out. Stuff like "Which of the following is mandated by the Federal Education Records Privacy Act?" and of the options, only one of them had anything remotely to do with privacy of educational records.
Oh, damn. I thought I was done for today. Just remembered that I have to take an online training session on reporting child abuse. (I'm fairly certain that what it will teach me is that, if I become aware of child abuse, I should report it. Which I would think would be pretty obvious, but as Recent Events have shown, it's not.)
I just sent an awkward e-mail (subject - Awkward Question) to one of my PMs to see if she wants me in the San Ramon or Oakland office while I'm out there and, if so, if there is hotel and car budget I can use. I'm flying out Tuesday afternoon for a Saturday wedding and will be working - so might as well, see if I can get work to cover the work portion of the trip.
I just talked to TCG and he said there is still a little bit of leftovers left. I'm trying to decide if this means I should pick up food on the way home or not.
Brenda, I think you're right. I can always eat the lite bit for lunch tomorrow, and I know I'll be too lazy to go back out once I'm home.

Hey? ER doc? I was hacking up bright, red blood and still balked at getting the CT with contrast because I don't have health insurance and the cost scared me. I am so glad you figured out that the absolute right and perfect thing to do was prescribe an ABX that cost THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Damn, Aims that is pricey!
