[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Dear client; just because we are doing thousands of dollars of work for you does not mean we should do extra non-related work outside the scope without being paid for it. Our profit margin is not what you must think it is. Please check your attitude.

No love, your contractor

I am trying to decide if my intestines are up for trivia. The were behaving until I started to get ready to go. Of course.

My gut answers questions about as often as my brain.

Thrive to spite them

I'm tired and should be in bed. Someone called out today so I was called in for the morning. I was scheduled to work at 3 on the phones so I went in and worked on the registers and then on the phones. But the hours put me into overtime so I'm getting some hours cut on Saturday. Which is fine.

The New Girl came in and worked the dreaded 12-8 shift (dreaded because it takes up your entire day). And she was doing better, she actually asked me for help, listened to what I had to say, and then thanked me. Which floored me.

But then reverted back to asking me for help and wanting me to go away. And I tried to break the ice and ask her about her favorite authors (she has a BA in English) but that didn't work. She didn't really want to talk, but I was trying and then she was kind of condescending to me. After that we didn't really do much or talk much and it was boring and annoying.

On the other hand I spent the rest of the night learning new stuff and trying not to look foolish in front of my manager. I just got some weird calls/questions.

So this past Saturday, did a little freelance work. Something I haven't had a lot of, since moving back to CA. This time, it was tuning a sound system for a major Broadway designer that is in LA doing a new musical. I've tuned a bunch of rooms, but always for shows I'm on staff for. I was real nervous going into it. The system was loosely designed, not well thought out. Kinda surprising for a Broadway designer. We worked that system all day Saturday. By Midnight, when we left, we felt awesome. We got a system, that on paper, had huge gaps in coverage. At the end of the night, we had nice, even coverage all over the theater. The delays were tight! Sounded nice and smooth.

Just got an email from the Assistant (friend of mine, who recomended me for the gig), she wrote:

[Designer] just leaned over and said "[Omnis_Audis] did a really good job tuning the room."

Really made my night.

I had more fun Saturday, than I've had at work in a long time. Wish I could make a living doing system tunings.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That's awesome, omnis -- I know neither Fuck nor All about tuning rooms, but I love the feeling of taking something that just isn't quite right and getting it to the point where it all goes click.

wear earplugs. It's a lot of pink noise (sounds like static), a lot of moving microphones around the room, a lot of moving speakers, and a ton of staring at squiggly lines on a computer screen, interpreting their meaning. Kinda like reading tea leaves. Strange enough, I really had a blast.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Go, Omnis!

Is there any reason why I can't substitute orange juice for lemon juice in my apple crisp? I finally remembered to buy butter, and I really don't want to go out again to buy lemons, but I have oranges.
