Dogs have an amazing sense of smell, good enough that some think they can be used to diagnose illness. I'm not surprised at the puppy's actions.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Good boy, Tater Tot! Hah.
Aw, good pup.
Good dog, indeed! Good boy, Tater Tot.

Ahem.
Hey, teachers among us, I need advice on the best chalk to buy.
I have just purchased some vinyl chalkboard sheeting to cover a significant portion of my kitchen wall. I'm going to use it for organizing and fun.
I want sturdy chalk that will wipe off well. I love color and have toyed with the idea of Crayola's glitter sidewalk chalk but don't want a ton of dust, breakage or smearing.
Is there an industry standard?
My research so far suggests Japanese chalk is the best, but I'm not interested in that kind of investment.
bonny, we recommend chalk markers [link] for our clients who want chalkboard paint elements. They're great, and so not messy.
All the classrooms I've worked in for at least 10 years have had dry erase boards. It's been a long time since I've had to deal with chalk.
juliana, those markers are gorgeous. I would never have found them without you.
My one concern is that one blog I read suggested that the markers are harder to wipe off than regular chalk.
I'm assuming, though, that the vinyl chalkboard is easier to wet wipe than even the paint version. Has that been your experience?
I'd MUCH prefer markers if they really will wash off completely.

Lucky. I've got classrooms with totally scratched-up chalkboards that are barely readable.

That has been. The markers come off easily with a lightly damp cloth - much like using the spray for the dry-erase boards.
Decision made. Thanks so much!
