I kind of wanted the cane with the flames painted on it like Dr. House has, but I looked into it, and they don't make it in my size. I even found a company that sells them that will custom-size the canes by cutting a few inches off the bottom if needed, but they said that, for that one, the amount they'd need to cut off would cut off most of the design. So I went with plain black.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That feels like an art project just waiting for a rainy day.
I always like House's dress cane, the black one with the silver handle.
Fuck, "I'd tell you a UDP joke but you might not get it" is the hardest I've tried not to laugh at in a long time (short version: if you don't understand it, it's totally not worth asking), and I just submitted it for the "funniest joke" requested by our CIO. Even in IT, it's got a small audience.
This is the only cane I have left from the collection I started when I had knee nerve damage. Katrina got the less practical ones. But it goes well enough with just about everything, and I like that sort of handle for about two or three hours worth of on and off use. Frankly, I don't think I'm up for much more with this injury, so no need for a better cane. Now. Hopefully ever.
So, I had my performance review today. It was glowing - I got a $10K raise and $15K worth of stock (vests over 4 years). Now I'll really feel like a total a-hole if I end up leaving. I couldn't help think, "This time next week, I might be giving my notice. Argh!" I totally realize this is a most excellent problem to have - choosing between two good, well-paying jobs. Still, it's so hard. I leave Sunday for an all-day interview in Seattle on Monday. EEK!
Those of you who are not FB friends, behold the beauty of my ridiculously adorable baby: [link]
Any chance they got wind of the other gig?
GC, OMG. what a sweetheart. I really needed a picture of a cute baby today. thank you.
Dang Glam, you really make cute babies.
(Not that you don't deserve the awesome review and raise -- just wondering if they're making a move.)
