Lorne: My little prince. Oh…what did they do to you? Angel: Nina…tried to…eat me. Lorne: Oh, you're--medic! You're gonna make it Angel. Just don't stop fighting. Doctor! Is there a Gepetto in the house?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Dangit, y'all's Mondays are contagious. Work, while being definitely Monday, wasn't overwhelmingly so. However, now my trusty old truck doesn't feel like starting - I'm leaning toward starter, but could also be battery or alternator. Makes me mad 'cause I took it easy and mostly stayed in all weekend - it should be rested, not troublesome! Hmmph, guess I should be grateful that it went down when I could stay all close to home, not on one of my rare road trips. But now the logistics of getting around town for the next day or so while it's in the shop - San Diego public transit doesn't bear thinking of - thank goodness for local parents and friends.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Does it go "tick-tick-tick" when you try to start it? Then it's probably the starter.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Total Monday. I'm still working. Urgh.

And thank you for being there last week when I found myself unexpectedly unable to deal with our anniversary. It made me feel less alone, and I love you all for it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oof. My students had a midterm tonight. I hate midterm nights. I am always in so much pain by the time I'm done with first teaching my regular classes, then bringing the exams to the exam room (which is way on the other side of campus, up a hill), walking around the room keeping an eye on the students for an hour and 15 minutes, then bringing the exams back to my office, and finally leaving campus nearly 12 hours after I got there. Stopped at the supermarket on the way home to get some frozen burritos for dinner, and got there just in time, because the supermarket closes at 9. Which is just ridiculous.

Oh, and unfriended my high school French teacher, because I just don't have the mental energy to deal with her anymore.

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, still working here too. Also, love you too Maria.

And I have to leave at 7am for a training session at 8am. Ugh. And I just remembered I was bringing donuts or something. I think I'll stop at the grocery store in the morning and grab fruit and pastries so I can eat something too. I may be tired and overworked, but donuts, nah.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That's a crazy long day, Hil.

Our wings are not tired.

Xposty with Hil.

Unfriending is the best plan. There are a couple family people I can't cut, but ridding the list of negative energy is a whole lot easier than fighting the crazy.

I hope tomorrow is far less physically taxing.

French teacher messaged me, "Unfriending me is a little over the top, Hillary. But whatever you choose." Yeah. Whatever.

I still have no Halloween Dots.

Thrive to spite them

I've been feeling a bit burnout mostly because of paperwork related to moving, and work. Work is mostly okay but I keep wanting got feel settled and I'm not.

I got my 90 day review today! It's my first 90 day reviews (the company does 90 day reviews for everyone) so this was on a pass/fail basis (I passed everything and did well) and then next time there's a rating or points or something.

And next week is the monthly feedback/review thing. They do monthly, not really performance reviews, but more like goal setting/did you meet last months goal/what can you improve this month.

It's a lot of feedback but it's better than too little feedback.

I wish I could feel free to say -please fire the teenage employee that no one likes (literally) and everyone complains about how lazy he is and how he doesn't do his job. He's bounced through 3 departments. The general consensus seems to be everyone has job security because he's still around. Unless there was a major rules violation.
