this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

but doctor's offices also call to confirm

For me, that's not part of the contract--they say they'll charge me, they don't say they'll call me. I gotta get my ass to shit or pay the price they stated. I agreed to it by making an appointment, not by receiving a confirmation call.

Mine, too.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I didn't realize inviting you in for coffee was a signal

??? Okay, even putting aside for a moment the question of signals (I'm with you on that one), there's more than a bit of equivocation behind not being into the date but not wanting to definitively move to end it either. I vote wishy-washy.

Besides, I really don't get the not-getting the hottitude that is meara.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's wrong with wanting to spend a little more time with someone you don't want to kiss? Especially if a) you don't know there's a kiss code and b) you're trying to work out if you want to kiss them.

If someone had come in and posted that they'd been on a date and they'd invited a guy in for coffee but made no moves and he made a move on her, wouldn't the response be anywhere from "there's a code! he's gonna expect action!" to "it's your right not to kiss anyone, you didn't lead him on." But "wishy washy"?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Y'all are funny today!!

bonny, I'm sorry you continue to have to deal with such stupidity and assholery. Did y'all ever do anything about the ex-walker poaching your pooch to walk, in his work t-shirt?

Ah, meara. That sucks. Dating is such a pit.

I've decided to transfer a bit of money from savings so I can enjoy this weekend. It's Nora's birthday, dammit!

My burn has developed one lone blister. It's good that I had four days to be off my foot - today was the first day I wore shoes and socks (instead of super light flip flops) since I burned it. Being on my feet all day has it swollen. I got some generic second skin which I'm hoping will help cushion it tomorrow.

Oh, Amy, thanks for reminding me about Coffeetivity!! I will definitely try that next time.

Yay, we're back!

Nothing wrong with it. But...we had already eaten dinner, then gone to another place for gelato, hen sat outside the gelato place for an hour. Are you still not sure you want to even kiss? (I would in no way assume the invite meant sex (though a possibility) but would generally think its a "come inside so we can be in a private place to make out)

(Nb, we had been emailing daily for a month, and had two hours long Skype dates, and by the time I left her house had been on the date for four and a half hours)

Compassionately intolerant

Dang. I was finishing a big post when we went down.

Recap: poor smonster's foot! Heal quick foot!!

Old dude walker dilemma: He gets cease and desist letter. So old, we won't sue. Blames me because he got away with unprofessional behavior for years and YEARS and I wouldn't take his bull. I'm okay with it.

Dating: Been too long to take my opinion seriously, but I always felt awkward that smoochies seemed mandatory. Thought I was good at reading signals. Not so much.

Cagney: Awesome play date with Yellow Lab puppy this evening, plus long walk in hot/humid. At one point this evening, I had to lean down to confirm he was breathing...he was SO sacked out. I love me some play dates, yo.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I get that you wanted to kiss her, and you're disappointed she didn't want to kiss you, but apart from disappointment--was she not supposed to enjoy your company enough to talk to you more? Not act on enjoying it, even though she doesn't know there's a code?

It's perfectly fine of you to cut bait, but I don't get what was unreasonable on her part, as opposed to not having decided a) to kiss you b) to stop talking to you (and you'd be disappointed by b too, right?).

She needs to have told you there's no sex coming ever by now? You can cut her loose, I guess.

Also, though I suppose I should be saying it in BBBB+, THANK YOU ita !!

Thank for being our champion and stalwart re-animator when stuff goes wrong.

I never panic when this happens because I know you are always on it.
