Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
So I'm partially moved and there are still issues. There's this whole issue of concrete being poured right in front of the parking area/my front door at the old place on Monday when we're suposed to move everything.
Although with my landlady and the neighbors we've figured out a work around.
Then there's my mailbox issue. Where I am now has the big metal mailboxes with multiple boxes, I went to the Post Office, told them when I was moving, filled out a change of address, and was told the lock would be changed on the 4th. It's not changed because I can't get into the mailbox. And my mail is forward (I guess I haven't been back up to St albans) and I want my mail!
So I'm going to the post office in the morning.
Internet works and I decided I was going to relax and watch some of Bob's Burgers through the Roku player which isn't working. It says it's getting a wireless connection but then nothing will load. I haven't tried contacting Roku because I'm just pretty much at my limit on what I can do.
Plus I brought a wrong box of clothes so I don't have any of my warmer clothes and it took a turn for the cold. I can't turn on the heat because it's kerosone and the people here before used it all up. There will be a delivery tomorrow but Will thinks it will have to be primed.
And then work has been kind of crazy. My supervisor wants me to take on the multi channel position (answer the phones, take orders over the phones, etc) and I need to start getting some time in because in 2 weeks I'll be doing that 2 nights by myself.
And there's a full time position opening up that would flex between that and cashier. I think I'm going to apply for it but I don't know. I've felt so stressed lately but Will keeps reminding me I've been stressed because of the move and the long drive and to hold off.
I could really use a therapist right now but I'm sitll looking for one.
billy, you made me write a fic
Awesome ficcitude.
Alas, an era has come to an end. Ryan has discovered, courtesy of his friends' reading material, that Spiderman in fact catches bad guys, not naughty spiders. My boy now lives in a world where naughty spiders go unpunished.
On a more serious note, ever since he turned one, Ryan has been attending the same childcare, run by two sisters, Jenny and Shirley. He's gone through each room (split by age bracket). Jenny and Shirley absolutely adore him (especially Shirley, who ran the middle room).
They announced a couple of weeks ago that they're retiring. Today is their last day. Ryan isn't at childcare on Fridays, so yesterday was his last day with them. Biyi and I came over in the afternoon to wish them farewell. Ryan had picked out cards for each of them. (Birthday cards, but the details are unimportant.) One of them got a sparkly buitterfly, the other a collection of racing cars. We also gave them each a Chinese painted glass jewelry box. Lastly, for each of them, we had a double photo frame. The first picture was Ryan when he was one year old, when he started coming to childcare; the second photo was of our little boy today. (Different selections in each case.)
Ryan's been very fortunate there. They've always provided excellent care, and he's felt right at home there. he's learned a great deal from them. We can only hope the incoming owners will continue the same standards.
That is quite the transition for Ryan. Have you met the new owners?

Not yet. They're Chinese, which could be interesting.

Not in my house.
Sad that his wonderful care from the sisters is ending but what a sweet goodbye for their retirements. You and Biyi are raising a wonderful human being.

In what world do naughty spiders not count as bad guys?
It's like how weeds are just plants out of place. Naughty Jillifonts are just indoors out of place. Or near an outside door. In the wrong damn place.
Askye, moving is one of the most stressful things out there. And you just started a new job too. Despite all you wrote, I think you are doing fine. Wish there was something I could do to help, aside from "you're doing great"! Soon, all this will pass, and you will be fine.
I don't know what rubber banded means but I hope it goes quickly.
Wow, that went fine! Totally didn't need the ~ma, sorry about that. Um. I'll use spoiler font, so, if ya don't want TMI, you can not read it.
I've got 3 lovely hemorroids, that are not behaving. Finally was annoyed enough to go to the doctor. The basic proceedure is to go in there, and put a tiny rubber band around the base of it. Over the next couple days, it will shrink, from lack of blood flow, and that 'roid is toast. To get at it, obviously, they gotta go in through the out door.
Waiting for the doc was over an hour. Actual proceedure, 5 minutes?? Maybe? I think it took me longer to change, hop on the table and lay down than it did for him to do what needed doing. So. If ya got them, I'd say, go get them taken care of.

ETA:
had to fix "your" "you're" error, so as to not squeak the editors in here... and me. Oy, how did I miss that??
Rushing in after the misheard lyrics convo to add,
"Heaven's just a funky moose!"
Ryan is adorable, but we all knew that. Nice to have periodic confirmation, though.
askye, I hope things settle for you well and quickly.
