Oh, no, you weren't -- I was making my lunch and dealing with the dog and e-mailing my mom to tell her that if she is going to respond to my stress over job-hunting while planning a wedding by telling me "the stress has got to go!" then that's not helpful to me and I will stop telling her honestly about what's going on in my life. Even though keeping it bottled up is driving me nuts. Digression.

Anyway, the publisher is called Samhain Publishing. Their books might be crappy -- I should probably download some of their eBooks and see for myself -- but I can certainly edit, you know? (Plus they have an m/m book titled "Junk." I am DEAD SERIOUS. How can I pass that up?)

You may even mention if you have ever read any titles or authors that they might know.

This would reassure them that you are actually their demographic and if you read their product, you are down with their mission. That way, it isn't you exposing personal expertise, but sharing in their success.

Once you have the job, I would totally suggest making clear that you are the in-house expert...if you want that gig.

They're based here. I did not know that. The position is freelance and WFH, which is totally fine, so it doesn't matter where they're located, but it's just funny that I didn't know they were based here.
