Interview is over -- it went well, and she's sending me a copy-editing test to complete next week.
Now I get to go to the OB/GYN.
The rest of my day had better involve booze and unicorns.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"A random act of cupcakery"
Awesome!
Yay Teppy on the strong interview. Trust me on this, it is a delight for the interviewer to encounter people who know what they are talking about.
Congrats to CJ! What a fine young man. Too bad about the drama, here's hoping it dies down soon. Do you think it was related to the peer voting?
sj, glad you got home safely, and I hope you slept well.
Jilli, awww. She sounds totally adorbs and like a very nice lady. There should be more random acts of cupcakery in the universe.
Steph, that's so exciting! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. This interview was for the freelance gig, right? And may your ladyparts soon be soothed. Painful ladyparts make it hard to enjoy life or even focus on anything else.
Hil, at least she didn't teach history? 'Cause that'd be so much worse. Funny how she keeps talking about history being rewritten but doesn't get that she's helping rewrite it. And by funny I mean ::facepalm::.
Speaking of facepalming and arguments on fb, I'd like to extend an invitation to any Buffistas so inclined to have at my friend NC on my page (currently posting on the link about redditors dicussing healthcare in other countries). Please be polite and as non-snarky as possible, but I don't have time to constantly rebut his arguments. If he's going to air his ignorance in public, he's going to get corrected. I'm specifying NC because I have a delightful friend with the same first name and I don't want any misplaced annoyance on NH.

I'm not sure. Basically there is Member D who has been on the team a few years, was a sergeant and more recently a lieutenant. Then there is Member A who just finished his first year and was promoted to sergeant at the start of the summer. Part of the promotions included establishing a First Lieutenant role with two Second Lieutenants (before we just had two Lieutenants). Member D assumed he was the only choice for First Lieutenant but that was given to Member A. Personality-wise and team leaderhip-wise, I think Member A is a better fit for the role than Member D. Member D's parent's are the head of the Parent Support Unit (we do all the fundraising) while Member A's mom and I are slated to take over that role when Member D graduates next year. Member A's mom got shunned big time last night by Member D's parents - as if she had any influence.
There was also Member J who was promoted to sergeant which is minor drama. I've known J for over 5 years and the best way to describe the kid is Eddie Haskel. I had two probationary members who are now under J expressing their concern to me because they have seen the "true" J. (Not sure why they thought sharing with me would get them anywhere - I told them that they had to give him a chance. If he fulfills the sergeant role appropriately, then great. If not, they need to go up the chain of command).
Just drama.
sj, glad you got home safely, and I hope you slept well.
Thanks. I didn't sleep well at all. Apparently the anxiety attack was my body's way of telling me I was about to be in a lot of pain. I'm feeling better today, though.
Go, Teppy! Continued job~ma headed your way.
Suzi, if CJ is really serious, long-term, about the S&R work, a good while ago I saw an article about a man with the National Park Service who got his start on a local S&R team. His current job is rescuing people from the Grand Canyon - people who've succumbed to heat and/or dehydration, fallen (and can't get up ... which, in the Grand Canyon, is WAY up), and otherwise need rescuing.
Toddson, he knows he wants to work in emergency services. Fireman has been the goal for years but now that he knows there are more options, who knows where he will end up. I'll mention the Grand Canyon to him.
Good news, Teppy!
never been a big Wentworth Miller fan...until now
Aww, good on him.
(I mean, he was as open secret as Anderson Cooper, but hey.)

Excellent! May the AMA be wise enough to see, that you would be top candidate, and offer you the job.
Jilli, that cupcake story is too cute! Glad she helped renew your faith in humankind. Maybe swing by with a signed copy of your book for her?
