Ah, poor pup. I'm sorry Bonny.
'Why We Fight'
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
If a dog bites you, Bonnie, it's a short matter of time before it bites someone else, unfortunately. Who is better equipped than you? Especially if the owners don't admit anything needs to be done?
It's sad, but I feel inevitable.
If anyone has a prayer for him, his name is Speck.
Oh, poor pooch. We had a Speck when I was a kid.
May Speck have a place at the Rainbow Bridge - even if he doesn't have any special humans to wait for, may his heart be healed. May he rest with the Divine in peace.
Thank you, Andi. I'm kind of bowled over by how much that means to me.
Oh, bonny. How awful all around. I continue to be appalled by your former friend, and I am deeply saddened to hear about Speck. I understand why you feel like your injuries were in vain. Still, you most likely showed him the greatest kindness of his life and I would surmise that his death will be easier than it would have been had he been hit by a car.
Sending a prayer into the dark for the poor pup.
Hil, I'm so sorry you're in pain. I wish you had a better doctor near you. I wish there were better therapies available for dealing with EDS.
Steph, excited that you already have a nibble! Keeping digits metaphorically crossed for you.
bonny, I was weeping when I wrote it. I am very sad for Speck, and I know you are grieving the whole situation. It is a monstrous grievance that there are so many animals who don't get a fair chance to be the best they can be, who don't get to have the love and protection that humans are supposed to provide their pets. Stupid humans.
bonny, I'm so sad for poor Speck, and you. smonster is right, you did him a kindness, even if he couldn't understand it.
It's horrible to feel that I saved him from running in the street, and sustained these injuries, for nothing. Just so he can be put down by people who don't have time for him.
I admit that I am probably a bad person, but I would totally say exactly that to your ex-friend, if it were me.
Seems I passed out after dinner, for about an hour. As a result, bouncing off the walls now. Gotta love it. However, I've been using the time to research stuff. Forgot to mention, this guy has been appointed the Chairman of the Solar Panels Committee for my HOA! (OK, so I'm the *ONLY* person on the committe, but minor technicality!) Anyhow, looking up different options. So far, the two that struck my interest are SolarCity (low/no down, 20 year lease. Should make HOA happy, in that they take care of all maintenance, and not much to fork out to begin with... but need to look at figures to make sure it's not fuzzy math). And PetersenDean, who are roofers AND solar installers. But that looks to be purchase only. Either way, I have two different options, and folks to contact to arrange inspections.
Now, if only I could get tired. All the lights are out, and still nothing. Time to resort to Carl Sagan. He's genius, but his delivery is dry, and has been known to push me to sleep.

This. I've been on the loved and protected side of the human/pet relationship forever. I'm grateful that my parents taught me my responsibility in that precious relationship.
