Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Huh. Drinking a half gallon of orange juice has not assuaged my orange juice craving.
Calli, that's why I don't think I could move back to DC. I don't deal well with heat and humidity in combination, and the PNW is so much nicer on that front (yes, 9 months of gray is a different story, but...)
Half a gallon of OJ? That's a LOT! Maybe have an orange?
I did a bunch today too, sorta--went running this morning, then met up with friends at a lake about 45 minutes away for swimming and hanging out a few hours, then drove up to a different part of town for some dancing, then home for a skype chat with a girl. Now I SHOULD be packing for my trip tomorrow, but I think I'll wait until the last moment, in the morning. Also, I have the hiccups. GRR.

IKR? But eating a proper orange won't happen as we have strawberries and blueberries in season here so that is what is in the house. Lots of strawberries and blueberries, which need to be used up, and are perfectly yummy and totally not what I am craving.
Emeline had an impromptu slumber party last night. We started out with 4 additional girls (5 including Em), but one of them left around 9:30. Partly because she doesn't like being away from home and partly because the other 4 girls were being pretty bossy. Not surprising - 3 only children and 1 oldest child. P is a really laid back, non-confrontational kid and four girls who do a lot of raised voice communication was too much for her. It's kind of funny, because she's the one I would love for Emeline to spend MORE time with in the hopes that the laid-backness would rub off on Em.
The girls that remain ate pizza and Doritos and sour cream and onion chips and Oreos and drank gallons of Sprite and lemonade and watched "Kit Kittredge", "Anastasia" and had a pillow fight and danced.
Joe thought he could get them to stop giggling and shouting at each other. I giggled at him and said, "You were never a 9 year old girl, huh?"
This morning, they were up by 7:30. I threw cold pizza and chips at them until I could get coffee and then I made them pancakes - which they devoured.
It wasn't even my sleepover and it's nuts how happy it made *me*. Emeline had (is having) a great time, but I was just smiling and grinning the whole time. Which made Joe grin at me like a fool. Well, except for when one girl was yelling at another, but that was nipped in the bud pretty quickly.
*Sigh* The little things, right? My girl couldn't be happier.

A happy child is no small thing, I'm thinking. That's good slumber partying.
Everything hurts. I'm sick of this.
I'm sorry, Hil. Does your doctor have any ideas for trying something else to relieve the pain?
My doctor here really isn't that great. I had a great doctor in DC, but then when I moved here, there was only one rheumatologist who was taking new patients, and he doesn't know too much about EDS. I've looked a little bit into finding someone else, in Harrisburg or Hershey, but there doesn't seem to be anyone there who's got any sort of specialty in it. And I'm planning on moving somewhere else at the end of this school year, if I can get a new job, so there's not much point in finding a new doctor around here now.
Promising news: I heard back today from the manager of the freelance editors for the medical journal I sent my resume to on Friday. She definitely wants to talk to me, so we'll have a phone conversation later this week. Fingers crossed!
