Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Netherworld, yeah! Gotta include that, Jilli!

Jilli, that would be a great job for you. Tons of job~ma.

It was either the ~ma or the power of complaining, but as soon as I posted about my stomach, it started to get better. I was able to go to G's party without incident, and we had a great time. All the little 4 and 5 year olds were awesome. No one fought or threw a tantrum, and there was hardly any whining while they bowled and had pizza, cake, and ice cream. TCG and I played skeeball, and after everyone left, we rented the pool table for an hour and played a couple games(we each won 1). There is a great used bookstore in the next town over from where the party was, and we stopped there, where I bought more books I don't need. Then a quick trip to the market, and now we're finally home. TCG is trying to cut the grass before sunset.

I'm glad your day ended up being nice, sj!

It's been gray and rainy all day today. I like this kind of weather, so I cheerfully walked to the farmers market and back, then opened all the windows so I could listen to the rain whle setting up my laptop. Tomorrow's supposed to be similar (maybe less rainy), so I put a hunk of beef and some veggies in the slow cooker for a Sunday pot roast.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

OMG y'all. I am so bloody tired. But I made almost $250. And Em sold almost $50 worth of lemonade, coffee, donuts, and cookies. She is thrilled and went to the store and bought a soda and candy, as is right and proper.

There are only a few things coming back in the house - the rest is going to Habitat or Purple Heart. What does come back in is getting Craigs-listed. I decided to keep my antique sewing machine and use my gift card to the Magic Sewing Store to have it repaired and cleaned (I feel like I said that yesterday. Did I say that yesterday? So. Tired.).

We get boxes tomorrow, so I'm going to start cleaning rooms out and packing over the next week when I'm not helping my co-operating teacher set up her classroom.

After dinner, I am going to shower and then ... do nothing. Tomorrow is church and Heritage Festival for the Duckie Race. And meal planning/grocery shopping.

Thanks, it was really lovely. I haven't played pool in forever, and it was so much fun. I need to do that more often.

I did end up painting my living room (well, part of it). Unfortunately, I picked one of those three-color cards, and picked the top (lightest) color (a yellow) and the bottom (darkest) color (an orange). But when they are on my walls? They look like basically the exact same color. Which is annoying. (The one looks darker than the chip and the other looks lighter--they are both like the middle color!) Didn't quite finish--got half the one wall done, but didn't want to move all the electronics/TiVo/etc to paint behind there, so there's still one bit left. I figure I'll either do it tomorrow, or Labor Day weekend. Also, now the white walls I left look sad. But I"m a bit afraid to go overboard and paint them too...my roommate came home and looked at me like I was nuts and said "Well, now I feel like I'm living in a hacienda".

They're supposed to be these two:

But basically just look like this one:

...in other news, I totally want a job naming paint colors. Dang.

meara, did you do multiple coats? We found that made a real difference in how colors looked when we painted.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, another coat on the darker one in particular should help.

meara - Aug 17, 2013 4:58:07 pm PDT #3426 of 30002

I did two coats on each (over white). I do still have some left, so could do another coat if need be. The "honey pot" is definitely darker than it looks, though. I'll also be interested to see what it looks like in the dark and/or tomorrow morning.
