I think my timeline is similar to amych's, which makes sense, because no one can tell our online personas apart anyway.
We figured it out one time, remember? -- we were within no more than a couple weeks of each other in one direction or the other. And then we were both like, "bitch stole my name!" And then we figured out we were 10 miles apart and knew people in common.
FWIW, omnis, you're a
really
good trade for not-dead-guy.
Are either of you NC peeps at UNC School of Performing Arts? A dear old friend is now teaching there! He's so excited. He's also the guy who created one of my favorite all time silly movies - Spaced Invaders.
I started on TT, I don't remember exactly when. Eleven years ago or so. Arrived as a refugee when Time closed its fora. At the time I posted mostly in the Faith and Spirituality arena. I found the Buffistas while exploring peripheral interests (Buffy, obviously, being one such.)
I joined in spring 2004 on the infamous Nilly-visit money-raising night, so next year will be a decade for me. Wow. I've also been in LA for eight years, which seems impossible.
I started lurking on TT and posting in I want to say the fifth thread there.
You've been in LA for 8 years? Then I've definitely been here longer than 8 years. Huh. Although since I mostly started with y'all in you-know-where, if I counted that, it's 9 years+.
Amy Parker pointed me to the group on Salon, I became more steady on Table Talk as I got more reliable Internet at home and at jobs. I remember the 9/11 check-ins.
Was it 5 x 5, Brenda? Because that is when I delurked. About 13 years. The Nilly trip seems "new" to me, and I still feel new compared to Dana, shrift, David etc.
