Fairly sure BoA is a subsidiary of Wolfram & Hart.
I think you got that backwards. I'm pretty sure that BofA is the more evil company.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Pix,
I seriously believe you need to contact the AG's offices in both states. I'm not kidding.
BTW, I put some stuff in announcements about a journalist doing a story on refis.
At this point I'm just poking at BofA to see if I can waste even more of their loan processors time. The final closure on this is basically BofA giving us extended lock dates, which are now 8/20, and then when some documents went in yesterday, we got a snippy email explaining that they had declined everything as of 8/8, and are now talking about a rate expiring on 8/14, which was a date we were never given. It's more of the same game that all banks seem to get to play where they make all the rules, can change them at any time with no notice, and there is no path available to appeal the decisions.
The appropriate follow-up might be, "well, I've never seen it ... should I open him up and look?"
"if I have to shank him myself."
Pix--somehow BofA owning Countrywide doesn't seem like a rehab job, more an inhalation of evil.
Aw Pix & ND, sorry to hear. I really hate BoA. They are assholes. I know you want to wait until after Halloween, but I'd say at least open an account now, while you are off for the summer. Then deal with the transfer of stuff after the Halloween stuff has calmed down. And look into getting the loan through them too. The sooner you clear out of BoA the better. It's really easy to open a bank account. And most credit unions require only $250 to open. (I think mine was $50!!) I'm pretty sure I passed a Wescom CU while visiting y'all in Pasadena. Or if you are eligible for one through your school? We have one on campus, and they have a savings account designed for teachers. Pay into it during school year, it gets a much higher interest rate than regular savings (which is still crappy, but, hey, better!), then withdraw it in the summer time. My Bank Of Disney credit union doesn't do that! Anyhow, I know how deflated, and pissed you are at banks right now. But, once the school year gets rolling, time is a luxury. Might be easier now with one of you on haitus.
Either way, tons of (((hugs))). Fuck Banks (cuz in some ways, they are a cancer, so they should get the same sentiment).
We will open the new account in November. Things are tight until the last HHN payment, enough so that I don't have an extra $250 to let lie. I will find the time then. I start back to school the day after tomorrow, so time is already an issue. Thanks for the sympathy. I'm pretty depressed about the whole thing, to tell you the truth, but I'll give myself today to wallow and then focus on better things tomorrow.
ETA: We can't get a refi through the credit union because of the whole out of state non-resident thing. If we try again, we'll use US Bank, which gets good reviews from friends and online.
I was able to open a credit union account last year with $10 in checking, fwiw.
Sorry I have no advice on bank stuff (since the most complicated banking I've done so far has been a student loan), but I'm sorry you're going through all that.
Unrelated, I thought this might be a good place to ask: anybody willing to get a photo of two people of the same sex kissing while holding a sign saying "GISHWHES supports the LGBT Community in Russia!"? (That's what the scavenger hunt item was changed to after people pointed out that the original item, two people of the same sex kissing in front of a Red Square landmark, would probably violate the "don't get arrested" rule of the contest.)
Or, photos of two people hugging each other, while holding up signs with a "message to the world". The sign can be anything you want. These ones, we're going for quantity -- trying to get 100 as a team.
So it turns out due to impatience and fuck-up on my part and misinformation on my school's part, I'm probably dropping out of school for the foreseeable future.
I have candy and pizza.
oh no!
