I got my first smartphone in 2010 and have been upgrading on the regular ever since. I love my Samsung 7 but am not wild about the software upgrade that just hit it a week or so ago. I can't even imagine not having the capability of a computer with me wherever I go. It's a worthy investment for the work I do. Though I think I need to get a better voice recorder, I had a 2 hour interview today and a quick glance showed that it only recorded about an hour of it.
much Mom~ma, Epic.
Sending a text message that included the word "white" and the phone suggested "supremacist".
This world we're living in. I can't even fathom sometimes.
I'm just spreading the love, So happy to have found you all
My old cat Java has diabetes Now, epic tangent, and the worst thing about it is the peripheral diabetic neuropathy. We've both adjusted to the constant blood testing -- because he is a bouncy Kitty not one of these cats where you can set a dose and then go -- but his poor hind legs are so skinny and don't work as well as they used to now. I'm kicking myself for not starting him on this sooner, there is a cat B vitamin called zobaline that anecdotally has all kinds of miracle cures. If he can hang in there for another month, apparently the zobaline should start to work by then . Anyway, I sympathize, and I certainly wish the best for your mom.
I really did get along okay with ancient cell phone and the tablet, but now that I've got the smartphone I just love it. It's one of the giant ones, it's a Nexus 6p on the Google Fi plan, which is such a great bargain.
I had a Samsung Galaxy S for a couple of weeks, because I misplaced the Nexus 6, and finally decided it was lost for good and bought the Samsung right after Thanksgiving..... and luckily, before two weeks was out, I found the Nexus sandwiched between Christmas catalogs. Costco and Verizon were obligated under their purchade terms to refund nearly everything. I really like the Samsung it's a great phone. I'd never used the Nexus at the time that I lost then found it, and I even called BestBuy to see if I could return it, but it had been too long, like four months, yeah, just sitting in the box. I've started going on walks now and using the map my walk app. I love being able to pull it out and look up my library record, or a phone number, etc. on the spot.
I'm a really slow adopter of tech, even though I frequently know a lot more about it than most civilians. I remember being at a buffistas event where everyone was in a room together but on their laptops. It took me another four years I think to even buy a laptop. I persuaded those people to go out on a walk with me eventually.
Kitty~ma, Java cat. I hope the zobaline gets a chance to work.
I hope the zobaline works on Java the Cat. Lots of ~ma and best purr-vibes.
I started on the board back on Table Talk when my Internet access was iffy and have followed along ever since. I actually haven't seen most of the episodes because I didn't have cable and my antenna couldn't get the channel very well, though I did participate in some videotape exchanges. What I did do was read a *lot* of fanfic, along with transcripts of the eps. I did see the last two seasons and I saw all of Angel.
You all were my lifeline when my beloved died.
I hope the zobaline works on the Cat Java and that said feline lasts the month that it takes to work and is back to his bouncy self.
I burned popcorn twice yesterday and had to turn off my heat and open windows to air my apartment out and n. IL has taken a turn back towards winter so it was a bit brisk in my apartment. Turned on heat and shut windows before I went to bed. Apartment still smells like burned popcorn. Sigh.
We had a sleep over with E tonight. Mom got a couch a few months ago that is a sleeper sofa and he's been dYING to sleep on it.
As soon as he came over he started pulling off the cushions and reminding us "You (meaning Mom) said, we could lay in it and watch movies and have popcorn and pizza!"
So we watched Willy Wonka, ate popcorn, then I made pizza. All three of us on there (and Penny joined for a bit). And I made berry shortcake dessert things. And then we watched Phineas and Ferb movie.
E got so excited and kept leaning over to hug us (he was in the middle). He said he liked the Gene Wilder version better than the Johnny Depp version, but when the movie was ending he looked up and asked "Can we watch Great Glass Elevator next??" and I had to break it to him that there ins't a movie for that. Which he declared was stupid.
